Open Source / Free software editing approach.

So I just wanted to share the editing approach I am taking for my vlogs. I have two systems I make use of regularly. The first is mac/iMovie which is perfectly fine at doing a good enough job to produce vids, although the interface can be a bit annoying.

The second is on my pc, for that I am using a number of tools, Gimp to produce graphics and blender to produce videos, 3D modelling and animations, Wax and Lightworks are also good editing and animation tools and finally Inkscape.

I created a playlist on my channel where I am linking in all the useful and easy tutorials I find.

all the best

The problem I have with open/free software is that I can never make it work like it should without a week worth of fiddling with settings and config files.
I have to check again (after 2 years) if things improved.

That is definitely one of the problems with it. I work with a lot of open source projects so have a good idea about the stable and mature ones. I would seriously recommend Blender, and the set of tutorials i added to one of my playlists will make it usable. Without those it will be too complicated to get started I believe.
