More and more often these days I'm seeing vloggers complaining about the new GoPros. Many are coming out and vowing to stop using them at all. Apparently the newer ones have been having a lot of problems with crashing, shutting down, killing batteries, sound clipping and such. I personally have only had minor issues with my Hero7 which by today's standards is an older model, but looking into the future when it's time for me to upgrade my camera, I'm not so sure I'm going to go with GoPro's newer models.
The other thing I've been looking at, and I'm quite behind on this, is a 360 camera, but again, GoPro makes one but it gets bad reviews compared to the X2. I'm thinking if I'm going to bite the bullet and buy a new camera, it will probably be a 360 camera to get decent back-facing panoramic views as well as being able to show the scenery without craning my neck.
Other than that I have been using a simple Hero7 Silver for the "selfie" camera on a stick to walk around when I get off the bike, but the Silver doesn't have removable battery and wont work with my microphone so cannot be used on the helmet. I also have a DJI gimbal hand held which is nice for walking around too, but I haven't been using it as much because it's a lot more gear I have to pack in the bike.
