WOW, new video I am working on just got big on the workload!

Ooof, current video project from today's ride has turned into a mammoth job, trying to add in a moving map for the green lanes as I ride.... the map file is bigger than the video files lol....
This may take some time! hahaha
The map, which will be 1080 and PIP is taking longer to render than the full video which is 2.7k.... will have to see if I can streamline this for future videos if I use it again as a feature.

While watching the video, I could not quite figure out, if you did the map in 2d or was it slightly in 3d. Also, did you animate it with moving a single bitmap or some other solution. If you're up to revealing your technique, It would be very interesting to find out.

It is all in app, so I don't choose any of the settings or animation, annoyingly it also doesn't face north, it rotates, so it is less useful than it possibly looks. It seems a popular addition though, so I will try and add it to future rides. I do wish it would allow me to just have the map, rather than the satellite view though.

Oh. I actually thought you animated it all yourself. I've used layered, masked animations of google earth and google maps, to show some stuff. Not with that kind of accuracy of course. I actually thought you went by the similar route, when animating.

True, animating can be a time consuming hassle, but when it all works out the way you imagined, it gives a nice feeling of accomplishment :D
