I Wish They Made A Tougher Osmo 2

I love the Osmo 2 footage because the following capabilities are unique compared to the fixed mount cameras. The problem is that I don't know how long will last out on the bike. Unexpected rain would kill one fast.

It is why I really like the 360 cameras out at the moment, no moving parts, so they are tougher and also waterproof. The 360 allows you to get the shots you want without having to move the camera for different angles too!

I've gotta check the coin can to see if I got enough for a 360 camera yet. I need a third camera so that I can have forward, me, and the dog footage available. The first video I did with the dog got views quickly. I have a feeling that I need to get her in there more.

I like the feel of the Osmo as it floats and pans around. I have to do more research, but I'm guessing I can copy that type of movement in the editing of the 360 video. Also, I have to wonder if my computer has enough horsepower for the 36o footage.

You can direct the POV of the GoPro Max 360 using their software in post.

As far as power of the computer and rendering 360, my desktop can get toasty but doing the same on my Android devices does not.

The Insta360 One X2 is a delight to edit the footage on PC with the included PC editor software. The cameras have built in horizon levelling and stabilisation, which is really cool with the bike moving around in the shot below it.
Insta360 have just released a new camera the X3 but I think it is more expensive the the One X2 and am not sure if there is value in getting that over the X2 yet.

I have had good luck with my GoPro Max. In-camera stabilization, horizon lock, and their app is OK for reframing post-capture. I reframe all my stuff in Davinci Resolve though, so my laptop only has to handle the 360 footage I'm actually using. When playing back, it's pretty smooth, but the laptop gets warm, and when rendering, you can watch the FPS go from 50 [I set this limit, unlimited it'll do close to 200fps] down to 10-15fps when it hits the 360 footage.

I have an i7-12750H CPU, a 2070 SUPER GPU, and 32GB of RAM, FWIW.
