Work has shot my trip plans square in the foot. I had a really cool multi day vacation planned in August, touring the waterfalls in northern Wisconsin and the UP. Vacation is effectively canceled. I think this summer is basically shot in the foot. Hell, I have vacation time in my bank left over from last year still that I haven't been able to use, and my entire bank from this year is untouched. I have enough time I could literally take a month off paid... And I can't farking use it.

My wife keeps using my vacation time ... to watch our kids. Like what part of hanging out with the family involves me riding my motorcycle and filming for the dozens of viewers I get on YT??? C'mon, lady! Of course, when I explained this to her, all I got was an eye roll and a free night at the Motel Couch. Joke's on her though, I love our couches!

I have been busy lately. Our riding group, the Alberta Chapter of the Iron Indian Riders Association , has selected me as their new president, so we have been busy restructuring the group, going for rides, recruiting new riders, etc. The IIRA is a group of predominately Indian motorcycle owners, but we don't care what you ride. It's been a learning experience, but the officers that the group selected to work with me have been awesome.
We are hoping to ride to the IIRA reunion in South Dakota in late August, but border restrictions are standing in our way.

Here is hoping that folk searching for your MC don't mistakenly find the IRA and assume connotations! :D

We don't call it an MC due to the connotations and repercussions if an MC feels we're moving in on their territory. We claim no territory, just like minded people that enjoy riding. :)

I was more worried by the IRA connection than the MC connection! :D

So I'm FINALLY going to do something moto related that isn't riding to work or quick shots on the local backroads. Saturday AM I'm headed out with a couple buddies and we're doing a bunch of riding in northern Wisconsin and hanging out at his cabin for the 3 day weekend.
That's great. I rode through there 6 summers ago on my way to eastern Canada. Beautiful area. I was very far north.

Do you have any motorcycling awesome planned over the next few weeks? What is currently exciting you about your biking, or specific bikes etc?
I've tucked my bikes away for there hibernation over winter, but rented bikes abroad so that the show can go on . So far a cb500x, an Africa Twin and a Aprilla Shiver 750. I'm a bike addict what can I do

I don't have any other plans other than making videos. Possibly once in a while I will go to the garage to do some motorcycle work, as I finally insulated and damp proofed it. But who knows, all depends on my actual laziness ;)

I'm on the fence on another bike, too. Already wife approved, but I can't decide if I want to head more down the ADV trail, or get a classic for me, a 6th gen VFR.

I'm kinda leaning towards the new KLR Adventure, but I did find a killer deal on a '13 BMW GS1200A. My 17 year old son if going to do MSF this year, and wants to dual sport, so I'll likely hold off on the VFR for another year and get the KLR or BMW.

Get the Beamer :D

My wife has NOT approved another bike, and I spent a ton on other stuff in the last 2 years, so it's time to rebuild the coffers for when she DOES give the nod.

tht's the one at my local dealer. I always wanted the blue, but I wound up with silver. Never really saw the blue in person even. So I'm kinda in love. And it's fully kitted. I rarely took mine on anything more than dirt roads, and we're looking at some heavy single track like the trans wisconsin Trail. I'm more of a sport touring ride which is why I was thinking KLR, since it's lighter. But man, this GS.... Mmmmmm....
