Having just joined I am still finding my way. I have a HD Ghost with the remote.
The remote has been on charge for some time now and still flashing a steady red. is this normal or do I have a problem.
Many thanks.

Hi, welcome to the forum @Buzzrt :)

When you say some time, how long has it been on charge? Is it a new remote, or have you had it a while?
Had it a while. Camera charged fine but remote had been charging for hours and still flashing a steady red. Tried unplugging and reconnect but still flashing a steady red?

Many thanks. Will any cable charge the remote or does it require a special one?
I don't have that camera am afraid mate, I just googled the info for you.
Some of the others use/used to use Drift cameras I think, but I don't think many do anymore as they have not been hugely reliable for a lot of people. @Meifesto @LoneWally do either of you still use Drift products?

Ok I’ve just caught up to speed. Yes I use the Drift Ghost S which is the newer version too your HD. I don‘t use my remote although I should. From what I understand the manual is correct. Though in my experience charging times aren’t always spot in general. I’ve dug mine out a plugged it in and its started flashing red indicating charging. Will let you know what it does. Worst comes to worse unplug it in the morning, take out and use till it dies and try it again.

I have the remote for my Ghost S, but I never use it. If I’m not mistaken it can start and stop the recording, but not turn the camera off. When I first started using it, it just meant I was burning off the battery when not recording. With my Ghost mounted on the side of my camera, I just learned to manually turn it on, start a recording, stop it and then shut it down. It does take practice, but it can be done. But practice first to get used to its turn on pace and rhythm.

Experience from phones shows, that if it keeps indicating charging but does not get any power in, it is either dead battery or dead charging adapter. I have had both. If another adapter, that you know for sure works, does not help, then it is time to swap the battery, if it can be swapped.

Hope you get it sorted. I don't have the camera but in my experience your best to use the cable for the device if possible.

For example my Cardo pactalk won't communicate with my computer if I use a standard cable, but if I use the Cardo provided on it does.

Update: My remote went solid green. I don‘t have the original cable since it was second hand kit. The battery not taking a charge due to it’s health as pointed out by Theodor is a good point my Scala Rider Qz did that.
