Definetly trying to build a back log of videos but life is getting in the way an I keep having to dip into them. First time was the bike was down for 2 weeks then now I am about to close on a house so filming and editing have taken a back seat.

Sitting at 818 subscribers so my goal is to hit 1,000 by the end of the year then after that it is to be able to create content during the winter where as normally I just don't put out any content during the winter.

Where are you in NH and what's your channel ? That's where I grew up and I'll be back there mid July around the Lake Winnipesaukee area.

@HippoDrone, the backlog is definitely something I want to figure out, generally. I had one lined up and found out my newly caught footage didn't record properly for segments and had to throw it out, so nice to have a bank in case critical path footage is lost, too.

@motosera awesome job on the channel progress! Would love to watch more motoexplorer content.

For my channel, still looking to just keep foot on gas for consistency. Just uploaded my 18th video since May 10th, so feeling good about it so far. Have moved from 2 videos/week to 3 videos/week, so will see how long I can sustain that. Had my first viewership milestone with a video tipping over 100 views, so small win, but a fun marker nonetheless.

I still have way to much backlog, so sometimes i end up removing older stuff xD
But it helps greatly in the wintertimes.

Aye, I have held onto stuff in the past as backup content, but once I change cameras (or sell the bike) I often just bin them as they don't feel relevant or of the same quality anymore

I didn't do Youtube with any seriousness when I was in the Royal Navy Submarine service, kinda wish I did though as that was when it all started pretty much, but then I thought it was "silly" and only really made vids for me with no tags or descriptions.... Is funny to look back at missed opportunities, but like you I wasn't able to commit to a schedule as getting deployed tended to screw with that!

Wow, you have as many videos up as me but I've been at it two months longer than you! I've done two vids per week for a few weeks now but I'm just working through my backlog of footage, normally one motovlog per week is all I'm doing. Motovlogging can be time consuming and I don't want to turn this into a job, it's more of a fun hobby for me right now.

And when time passes by everyone will have a moment where they just don't feel like doing it, for whatever reason.
Can be pushing to much content to consistently, and just getting tired from it. Or not feeling like editing, which will tend to mean more filming and creating content, not editing anything, and thus a bigger pile to edit. Editing fatigue can be a painsore

So definitely do it at your own pace, so that you can still enjoy it.
Yes, youtube likes consistency, but it is more important to keep enjoying it

It's an interesting discussion point.

I like the self-accountability aspect of pushing out content Mon-Wed-Fri, or such cadence, and really holding myself to that for a period of time along with having a running list of areas to improve/focus on. It helps me flex my discipline muscle and also helps me put enough time into skill growth to get better at a reasonable pace.

The thing for me is that being bad at a hobby is not very fulfilling (even if it's leisurely). Or as the saying goes, you become passionate about what you're good at (not the other way around), so the better I get and the more I'm adding value to others (e.g. educational / entertainment), the more fun it becomes and the more meaningful the time spend feels.

I don't have competing priorities, so obviously that's a factor. No dog, wife, kids, house to take care of, or any of that. But that's also been a selective decision to keep my life as lean/simple as possible right now so I can maximize my focus on work + 1-2 hobbies + self-care. Also, I do see motovlogging as more of a "side hustle" with potential.

For sure everyone is wired differently; so wanted to add a different lens to the discussion.

It certainly makes it easier having no other ties outside of work, am in the same boat.

Oh man, that sounds wonderful! I have a wife, a house to take care of, a 45+ an hour week job, too many things do make devoting time to motovlogging difficult sometimes.

Also partly true.
Having a ritme to it really helps getting it done, and yet still having fun with it.
Setting easy to hits targets, that give you a feel of accomplishment will hit you with dopamine, and thus will help you enjoy the hobby more

Well, after an initial growth up to just over 200 subs, I'm pretty much stuck there now. So it will be interesting to see if the channel continues to grow, or whether that's it Time will tell and I'll continue chucking out content at least once per week!

Would be nice to hit 300 before the end of the year, I think, based on the slowing new subs rate that this would be a long shot
