Annoying and crazy issue... please advise..

Ah, the beauty of GoPro cameras and this little Gizmo on my bike.

Never have to clap as all the cameras start within a split second of each other.



Plus, my bike has room for all the kit too!

Hey R-Rated - thanks for posting about this as I just picked it up to give it a whirl. Not only to save time on syncing multiple cameras, but also to get them both recording only what I want. Sometimes I record my vlog, stop, then start again for safety recording (in case something happens), but nice to be able to toggle that on both easily I gander.

@Gemini any update on the audio snafu ? I'm still rocking purple panda on my end so can't say I'm able to test your scenario still to give any further feedback.

Just sticking with the ourple panda. I think the audio pops only happen over 70ish mph. I'm also trying different positions in my helmet to see if it helps

Cool. FWIW, I am futzing on mic positioning too so will report back learnings.

Here are the variables:
- Taking the fuzzy windscreen off and using the tight-fit wind guard only from the purple panda kit (I've done fuzzy windscreen only in early videos and layered both together in all other videos; double seems overkill).

- Used some gaffers tape to put the mic just to the front-right of my mouth facing upward (embedded in cheek facing down, level, and up at an angle and having it under chin on top of my helmets wind curtain up until now).

- Using the breath guard and wind curtain on my Shoei helmet, with the front chin vent closed and other vents half open or fully open. Guessing wind curtain helps; not sure if breath guard/vent hurts or not.

- Playing around with my own voice loudness (assumption being that GoPro modulates Db) as it can be easy to want to "yell" when going fast and hearing the engine + wind firing away, despite the mic still being an inch from your mouth.

Obviously the fifth variable is a different mic/audio recorder, yet will stick to Purple Panda for now.

I'm still running a Tascam DR-05 and ECM mic. its easier than dealing with the gopro mic headache (i kept breaking them). but it does add to your editing time.

I run an old Sony PX-312. The first time I used it I got garbage audio. I went in and adjusted the following: I set the rec. mode to 128 kbps, Mic. sensitivity to low, and turned the low cut on. That seemed to do the trick. I pair it with the Purple Panda and get really good audio. I can even run down the interstate at 80 MPH with my helmet visor up and still sound pretty good.
