The GoPro Hero 7 Black does 4k/60 and has timewarp too. I do believe the double screen is switchable on the DJI.
Haha... @chrisw959 none of the modern GoPro cameras can beat that either... is why I strap a powerbank to my helmet! :D
If only the Hero7 Black could do 4k/60 in Superview.

As someone that already has a Hero7 I don't see the DJI as an upgrade, but if I didn't have a camera yet or was looking at getting a second camera, the DJI is a great contender.
The main issues I see with it is just the lack of accessories compared to the GoPro, the timewarp, and the lower FOV. At it's price though... Definitely some competition happening. Maybe GoPro will finally have reason to really invest in some R&D and come out with much bigger generational upgrades. Looking forward to watching this race.

I have a small edge on the backside of the helmet which i can't really see on yours.

I was thinking about mounting mine sideways, due to that little edge.

Here's what mine looks like.
@Meifesto and I both have the same helmet @FloridaMan as for the solar panel, I don't think it adds much, but it all helps. TBH, I've never run out of power on it, I think in the year (ish) I've had it, I have only recharged it fully a handful of times! :)

This is a close up of the edge and how the powerbank sits over it.

I really wish someone would come out with a cam that allowed audio to be recorded via Bluetooth. I normally power my camera (Drift Ghost HD / Insta360 ONE X) using a powerbank because it allows me to ride for hours and I just hit record / stop whenever I want. And I don't want to record my voice on a separate track because that means sitting and doing a lot of syncing in post.

Closest is the sena 10c which is what I use, however the cam battery is only about 60 and I’ve owned it for about three years, battery KO’d. Sena state you can’t replace the battery but well, I did!

Sena really need to up there game. They are on to a right right winner but it’s buggy quite often!

I’m a massive fan of DJI, I own loads and the pocket...I probs would never buy the action though.

I'm sticking with the "industry standard" (IMO of course).... Go Pro has consistently gotten better over the years and as anyone who has used them knows, they are solid cameras. The funny thing is that most will never even use it to its full functional capability or even remotely close to it. Changing entire systems becomes expensive (I just went from shooting with Canon's to Sony's as an example so I pretty much can't use anything Canon anymore) and then there is the unknown as to how committed they are to supporting the platform (improvements, firmware updates etc., etc) because if it does not do well it surely will be gone. I'll wait to see how it does after all of the hoopla has faded... Don't get me wrong, I love competition in the market as it keeps prices in check but I guess time will tell.

How does it handle rain?
Or do you take it off then?

Not had any issues when I've been caught out in the rain, I have one on my offroad helmet too and have been out in some pretty wet rides on my Beta! :)

I bought the DJI last week. Although I've only given it one run out so far its fair to say I'm very impressed. Simple to use and the touch controls work well. As for all the attachments (3.5mm jack), these are yet to be released which I find odd and the pocket adaptor does not work. Glad someone else found that out at a cost of $60!

I'll hopefully have a review out with it soon.

It's nice, but....

When I first looked at it, I also thought about the external mic.

You need to buy the Osmo adapter, it turns out that simple/normal/generic Type-C->PL3.5 just doesn't work.
Yes, it's a good cam
but I really think that they MUST stop with this proprietary-over-priced-adapter thing.

I agree with you lets just put the mic ports on by default and be done with the whole thing ;)

I ordered the Osmo Action as soon as it dropped. The stabilization is incredible, the field of view is not as good as the GoPro superwide view, but I always ran my GoPro 5 in linear mode. The Dji has whats called Dewarp, it's same idea as linear mode. I an now filming with dewarp off because it slightly shrinks the field of view, and it's still no where as fishbowled at the GoPro. I'm experimenting with 4k, 30fps and 60fps, editing in vegas pro and uploading to youtube.

Here is a raw vid of 4K 30fps, with dewarp on. Ignore audio, i'm talking to my GoPro.

I've also got a short video out of us riding as a group. The footage is brilliant. Stability is amazing. Really hoping this new attachment for audio is out soon. The sooner these companies start including Bluetooth audio connection the better! Pain the backside. But the camera... amazing!

Well I can confirm that have been using this camera now for just over a month it is brilliant. What I have found surprisingly useful is the "Take Photo" function. This was invaluable whilst over in Europe and the quality is really good. If you need any advice or pointers, feel free to ask... and no, there is still no external mic!
