Hello all,

I'm Steve from Missoula, MT. I have been riding for about 10 years now and have always thought about doing some video work. I typically do a lot of long distance endurance riding (Iron Butt rides, etc), and thought it would be a good subject to start vlogging about.

I currently have 3 bikes, and love them all for different reasons. My main long-haul bike is my 2006 Road King Custom. I have been in all but about 12 states on that bike, and that's where I got into endurance riding. A few years ago I acquired a 2009 Versys with the intent of doing some off-road stuff. Unfortunately I don't do as much of that as I had hoped. I also bought a 2007 Yamaha FJR1300 a couple years back, which I am building out to be my LD Rally bike.

Not going to lie, it took me a while to get used to it (and the Harley in general). But over the years we have bonded pretty well. She's taken me all over the US and a large chunk of Canada and still rides like a champ. Hands down the most comfortable bike I own.

Being a long distance rider, I am interested in how the FJR works out. I considered it and felt it was a bit small for me and what all I carry on multiday trips.

I have used it on a few multi-day trips and it has been awesome. The wind protection is pretty good, so it's decent when the temp drops a bit. Get a top case to go along with the side bags and it's got plenty of room for whatever. I was actually surprised how much just the side cases can carry. And the bike is bulletproof. I got it because the Harley is getting up there in miles, and the FJR is nearly bulletproof. I know people that have 200,000 miles on them with little more than routine maintenance.
