How do you guys promote your videos? I think I have pretty decent content but I just tag them & publish them. I don’t get many views.

I share mine on (imo) relevant facebook groups and forums. I also try and comment on all the videos other motovloggers channels I follow, it has led them to check out my channel and got me the odd sub. You need to get your tags right to get visibility on the tube of ewes though.
Being active on forums can help, as folk generally won't watch a video from some random who only spams their videos

I post on one or two Facebook groups and a few forums and I dump it on the motovlogging sub reddit

Numerous Facebook groups, forums, on Discord, and by watching, liking and commenting on other motovloggers I've subbed to. I'm actually taking a social media class and will be starting an Instrgram account soon. I'm really not into social media. I spend too much time on Facebook as is, but have no interest in Twitter, Reddit, or following any particular brand, so I'm looking at things more as an outsider looking in.

I don't really do any promoting, just share the link onto my own Facebook page, Instagram is just for photos or short clips, I don't post any YT videos or links there.

Twitter.. Still don't know or care how that sh*t works. LOL.

Oh, and on KawiForums (but only Kawasaki bikes related stuff), not that frequently either.

That's about it.

What about when you were growing your channel when it was newer?

Honestly I never did any promo of the videos, that's why it took soOoOoOo long (like 8 years) to get to this point. I'm happy with the way it is, I put no stress on myself to delivery or keep the hype going or freebies/contests, as it is I'm already slowing down a little in uploading.. From roughly twice a week to once only (not on a schedule, never committed to having a schedule for uploads).

I hardly use my facebook group, I mostly use tags and Instagram for announcing when a video goes live.

Aside from that its mostly word of mouth for pulling in new viewers.
I'm not big on spamming my channel to my personal facebook/instagram, it kinda reminds me of that friend who's trying to hustle people with Herbalife or other pyramid schemes.

I've seen other motovloggers tracking their subscriber count on a regular basis and losing it when they lose subs. I'm not about that life, if the channel become popular it'll be because of good content, not demanding subs.

I share vlogs here sometimes.
And music videos on a Dutch side. And that is about it.

In the old days a lot of the promoting your channel happened on other channels.
Either with the video response or just talking to communities.

I spent quite a bit of time pimping my videos anywhere I could, facebook groups, twitter, reddit when I wasn't banned, all in the run to 1000 subs.

Funny thing is once I got just over 1200 or so subs I stopped promoting stuff as much. Now it just seems to grow on its own. Its almost like once you get to 1000 youtube decides to promote your stuff, as all of a sudden there was a increase from related and reccomeded videos.

that is really awesome. Have your views increased by the same percentage? :)

Not really, because if you work it out in a percentage I went from 200 subs to 2000 so thats a 1000% increase.

My views have gone from around 100 a day to -600 (go figgure) to 1000 a day.

Overall more people are watching my stuff for longer though. Average watch time has gone from 2 mins to over 5. With a average of 70% per a video. That's where the real worthwhile increase is.

I had some business cards made for my YouTube channel. I figure it can’t hurt to try and I’ve seen a couple other people do it.

Thought about doing that, never did in the end.
Didn't same worth it (time, money, waste wise)
I kinda feel the same, instead I got stickers made for the channel.
I think stickers are more enticing than a business card that would otherwise be thrown away.

I think stickers are a great idea to hand out at motovlogger meets. I'd probs not hand them out at random meets though
