Guy posted feedback on one of my videos "utterSHITE" mate.

Was my reply too strong?
Well I hope you fall off your bike and spend the rest of your life dribbling through a straw whilst your doctor fiddles with you on the quiet mate.

Meh, could have done worse. At least you did not hose them down and it is not like you will actually see them...

There's a difference in being a douche and and being upfront. Seems to me like this guy was being rather douchey. Trolling is the only way to respond to trolling lol.

My opinion- not feeling it.

There is banter and dealing with trolls, then there is being a child.

I've seen your posts etc and I'm a tad suprised of that sort of thing coming from you to another rider but it's your channel.

Would I blank your videos because of it, would I think you're a knob. No

Agreed Dan. it was an absolutely childish response in the extreme. I had had a few beers when I saw the comment and thought it amusing to reply. I was being a bit playful really. In all seriousness, I don't mind the comment I get nice comments too. Most of my videos I keep private now as a diary instead of a public display. But I thought people on this forum would have an opinion to share on the subject of trolls and comments and stupid replies. Or an opinion on. It replying etc. It was an important subject.
I hope the guy rides well and doesn't fall off his bike ever. Hope he comes home to the family like all of us after a ride.

But as for the doctor comment he deserves that bit (That's a joke too) just in case somebody doesn't get the humour..[/QUOTE]

Hmmm, that comment must have struck a deep nerve considering how calm you are in the video.

On a positive note, Dang that was a nice video. The intro and outro were 10! Great background music. It was light and calming like the ride. Your narration and transitions flowed smooth.

The camera angle took me a bit of getting used to. But that is just me.

So back to the question, really strange to go from one to the other end of calm. I have not gotten big enough to let go of moderating the few comments I get but this does make me think of what I might have to look forward to... Maybe.

Cheers, to be fair I have a lot of videos and comments and I'm not that precious. That one struck a cord at the wrong time haha. RichyVida was speaking about it too. He has posted his 16 video of his tour of america recently. I won't reply in future unless I have had a few beers again !!

"... . I won't reply in future unless I have had a few beers again !!

To borrow from a redneck saying, "Aw hell!"

:D

I thought it was a nice vid. Beautiful scenery. I suppose I'm a bit immature ;) you're response sounds like something I'd say to a friend, only because that's how we joke with each other. I have a guy at work that always gives me hell about being late, one day I told him his wife said to pick up some milk on the way home. We became best buds after that lol. I suppose it's all about context.

Personally, I probably wouldn't have said that to someone on my channel. However it does feel good to lash a troll from time to time :D. Maybe it's just the fighter in me. I was usually one to start stuff in school.

From the commentor's post, being so vague and such, personally I wouldn't even have bothered to come up with a response.

I think your response is not harsh but instead reflects upon yourself in the long run, others that see your comment may feel you are somewhat hostile, or maybe agree with you about that commentor, it could go both ways..

Some guys are all for the "take no shit" or "come at me bruh" attitude for their channel and videos, unless you're going that direction then OK, otherwise perhaps it's just easier to ignore the comment, you are not required to respond to every single comment.

:)

Meh, I cussed the crap out of someone the other day on my FB page. Haters gonna hate. The guy was calling me ungrateful for some reason, for a video which showed tons of potholes. Sure they were gonna fix it in a day or two, but pothole dodging with Sonic music is funny as hell. Idk why he was so salty.

But yeah, if they're tryina ruin your day, ruin theirs!
