Need Some Encouragement!

So tomorrow I'm finally going out in traffic. I need to ride a about half a mile to get to a street which goes by a river and is usually empty. It's that half a mile that I am worried about. For some reason there's some fear in side of me and this is killing me vibe. Need some help!

Just do it. Its only a half mile. You should be able to make that without dealing with another car. It should be no different than walking downtown. The best feeling in the world is facing a fear and conquering it.

THanks, yeah idk why but I've been looking forward to tomorrow the entire week only to face this damn fear/anxiety today. Hopefully I'll be feeling way better about it tomorrow!

You will love it, so much so that you might miss that turn and just keep going down the road and see where it takes you.

Best advice... just go for it. Seams simple but in reality you're probably making it a bigger deal in your head than it will actually be. Just keep observant watch for hazards, and you'll be fine.

thats why you have to be extra cautious. you make it sound like your gonna be doing 200 everywhere. just keep an eye out for what other people are doing around you and you will be fine. i do dumb shit constantly when i ride but i always watch for other people.

Thanks for asking mate. I actually did a few circles near the garage, nothing fancy. Got my confidence up again (had some nasty business last time I was riding (off the bike, just had to deal with a few guys), so it kinda associated with riding). Anyways, I didn't get out into traffic since the weather changed drastically from sunny to a hailing storm. Hoping to do it tomorrow!

Yeah man, it's crazy here with this weather. It's supposed to be 34C here already but it's raining and hailing instead... even today!
I managed to get the bike out on the street and do a few circles out there. Not so many cars but still had to ride along with them which felt dangerous but not so scary anymore. I was just trying to be extra cautious due to possible rider error that I could do. I'm just not 100% aware of how the bike will behave (or how my skills will behave) so it felt right to let the cars pass by me instead of riding thru them.

Overal, getting more confident day by day! Thanks for the encouragement everyone!

Yeah the suns out here today! If you were closer to me I'd happily spend a day with you trying to get you where you want to be. Just take it steady and you'll get there! What bike are you learning on?

It's nothing popular sadly but it looks good and functions good. A small 250cc:

And yeah that'd be great to have a fellow rider to ride along. So far i don't know any normal guys locally who also ride. Most of the people I've met are usually of a very elitist mindset and 'unless you're ridin 600 or a liter, then you're a piece of sh**" is not something I wanna deal with really.

Looks like a good bike to learn on and similar to the previous face lift Honda CBR125 in looks yeah, you'll normally find they can't actually ride very well lol

Thanks, I didn't wanna go big on it. Basically something that has enough speed for the city and for a beginner and something that I can drop a few times while learning without getting into a major depression
