Why To Have Armored Gloves **graphic**

Hello , I had a accident on my KLR650 due to a random pulling out in front of me (there at fault)0 I had on Plated armor + Padded Vega jacket , Full helm Armored knee pads and Steel toe boots .. but didnt have any hand protection...

THIS IS WHY YOU NEED THEM
Remember that no matter HOW good you are , your not immune to this

I was looking at a leather shop today at their motorcycle gloves. But, they didn't have any armored knuckle ones that could replace my current armored knuckle gloves.

Leather is good for abrasion damage but My hand went thru the window of a blazer , it was glass and then the road that got me

Only thing you should spend more on than gloves is your helmet. I see a lot of people riding with pretty flimsy gloves on the street, which is just asking for it. Even if you don't hit / get hit by something, the first instinct when going down is to catch yourself with your hands-- a very bad thing if you don't have some significant material between said hands and the pavement.

One of the best things to condition yourself in to is crossing your arms across your chest if going down is inevitable-- old car racing trick that prevents broken hands/wrists, and is even more applicable to bikes.

im with you there , the question for the plated armor in the glove would be metal Vs ASB-pvc
Metal dose not break / only bends that can be bad if the metal dents and digs it way into your body
ASB PVC will break under allot of shock and if cold and has some give to it.. I think the best is when its the glove is built in this order:Hand,fabric ,ASB ,Metal

I prefer metal to plastic-- most molded plastic is prone to shatter, which is worse IMO than deformed metal. Though plastic with a kevlar layer between you and it would work as well.

My favorite gloves have titanium armor with ray skin and kangaroo leather under it-- they're VERY tough.

Yup, I used to ride without gloves for the first 2 years of my riding career.

After my second accident saw me fly onto the road when a car hit me, it changed my view entirely. I had fallen front first and had instinctively caught myself with the palms of my ungloved hands.

That accident pretty much stripped the skin and flesh from my palms and I couldn't use my hands for at least 2 months while it healed. It was even worse because I was having my university exams during that period.

After that I would never ride without gloves on. And i would also insist my fiancee wear it if she pillions (although she always doesn't want to wear it anyway and wins that argument).

I wear mx gloves but doesn't help I wear shorts a t shirt and vans bit I do wear a helmet I crash all the time.

The glove looks nice , a bit out of price range at the moment given i haven't worked over a month now , I will be on by bike in no time .. just as soon as the doc clears me and a bit of rehab

oh yeah hahah i wear military grade carbon Kevlar knuckled gloves weather im on the road of road and the good thing about it is ever time you move your hand they let air in threw small holes that only let air in so its like ac for you hands hahahaha and their water proof gloves they are also touch screen compatible and softer then your first chichis (8008s) xD and no there not 100 dollar gloves there only 16.00 xD ive wrecked in them twice already on and off road theres not even a tear or nothing on them
