hi guys,

As some are aware, I ordered 6 logo's from Fiverr.com and I thought I'd do a honest review of the logos I received and you guys can see the quality (lack off) of the logos in the video.

Also in the video, is my actual logo which was designed by TheInfamousBiker which is bang on what I was after and fits perfectly for my channel:)

Here's the video (I'm hopefully improving with the editing/sound quality):

I had no issues with my fiverr experience. A guy made my cartoonicature which is now my logo and my sticker.

That was horrible! I can't believe that they thought those were even good enough to send! They used clipart and added a pic and some text.... Shoddy.

Thats good, I guess it depends on what you order :) mine was from the logo section, and like I said in te review, a few mates used them no problem:) i'm glad you had a good experience with them:)

Haha I suppose you do get what you pay for though:) I'd be more annoyed if I paid £40+ :p

I run a marketing business so I work with loads and loads of designers - I always see the odd sole trader who suggests that people who need 'art work', use fiver to save costs

Not once have I seen a logo that isn't shit from fiver, or templated etc

Don't get me wrong. I'm sure there is the odd designer from a third world country who might be shit hot but woould you really spend £50 testing them all, just to find the good one? You might as well hire a proper one

I'm promoting this as well - Well done

Yeah, man. Those were pretty damn awful. At least TheInfamousBiker did you right in the long run. I used to run into the same issue with artwork while I was playing in bands. We'd get approached by an "artist" and we'd give them a concept to work off of, only to get something that looked like Napoleon Dynamite drew it. lol

I wish I had kept some of those samples now, because you guys would have peed your pants laughing.

My logo might be simple and cartoonish, but that's kind of what I was going for. It was based off of WWII bomber art and insignia like these.

My biggest issue with Fiverr is how they make logo work seem dirt cheap, which makes people expect more for less from actually serious artists. "I saw it for like 5 bucks somewhere else" is a common "threat" when I deal with some clients as a small time freelancer.

The way I see it is, if I didn't go through that process, then I wouldnt have my current logo :) so in a way, I paid that for my current logo :)

Yeah TIB did a good job, I'll be keeping this logo for a long time, no need to change it which was just what I was after:) haha did you pay for them? or did they attempt the artwork to build up their portfolio? :p and your logo looks good:) I like it.

Simple is the way forward I believe, its straight to the point, looks good and can be used in almost all scenarios :) It's really helpful when others help us out like that:), TIB done my channel art too which was really good of him too, he didn't have too. I do like your logo tbh, did a good job with it.

Yeah you'll probably always get that issue, but like me, when I don't have much money to spend on a logo you try get it cheaper but then sacrifice a lot of quality as a result. I can relate to this though, my previous job was at Three (a Mobile Phone Network in england), when the company went from price driven to brand driven, and other companies coming out cheaper for the same phone, but not offering no where near as good as service, clients that are money driven go there but often regret it shortly after its too late. It is a frustration I agree.

Yeah I fully agree, I knew full well it wasn't going to be amazing, and I really only went there as I had no clue what I wanted the logo to look like (creativity is not my strong point), and I was going to collate the ideas to then hire someone decent to make the logo once I've got a few solid ideas if that makes sense. I did expect the logos to be just a tad better than they was, but you live and learn haha.

Thanks for promoting mate, I really appreciate it :) It means I am doing something right haha.

Thanks! No We didn't pay for it. They were usually pitching to us because they wanted to be used on our album cover, web page, flyers or some such thing. Either because they liked us or like you said, they wanted to get their name out there. Usually we just told them sorry, not what we are looking for right now or we decided to go with another concept. What I wanted to say was ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME? DID A 6TH GRADER DRAW THIS???!!!

Here is the guy I got done.
willphmoto_Transparent-PNGtest-SMALL1.png

It wasn't templated, as throughout the process I was sent updates. He sketched it on paper first, i got outlines and could see it progress through the stages. Made small changes here and there and voila. I did end up spending more than 5$ tho.

$5 for head
$5 for body
$10 for license use
$5 for psd file
$10 for vector file
and $5 for something else i cant remember

Plus conversion and fees, I was close to $50 CDN at the time I think. so that is a far cry from $5.00
My only commitment at the beginning however was the $10 for head and body. I figured if I didn't like it, I would walk away and only lose the $10.

I think it also depends on who you use. My guy had very high reviews and great sample work. My little guy is also a part of his sample work now.
