Zoom Alternatives

Seems like my new helmet has improved the ambient sound. Need a proper test on a wider range of roads, only been to the pharmacy and back so far!
 
So by that do mean it's letting more ambient noise in (its noisier!) or that it's filtering more ambient noise out? (It's quieter!).

Depending on your perspective, both are potentially desirable!
 
PS, ever since I mentioned wanting an enduro style helmet somewhere here today, this forum is now LITTERED with FC-Moto ads with Enduro lids! It's so accurate, it's a little bit scary!
 
The microphone is picking up the ambient noise better. As to whether the helmet is noisier on my ears is yet to be seen! Er, heard...

I've given up again and had to go back to this account as I just can;t use the forums on the old one.

Do you use that setup for every ride? You Youtube videos show otherwise.

I'm guessing you mean me old chap?

I'm currently 3 months, 10-15 videos and a whole new bike behind on my videos!

So far I've just done a little bit of test stuff with varying setups on the new ride. I want to REALLY make my videos pop in the new year.

I didn't realise you had such a lag on your videos. Does it not annoy you having to edit your old stuff?
 
Nah, not as much as I thought it might.

Though the lag was kind of forced upon me due to a whole month of working so much I couldn't edit anything.

Also it works well as a kind of quality control. Footage I might have though was 'cool' 3 months ago will have lost the rose-specs effect now. So if it doesn't speak to me, I just bin it.

Plus I'm still on the euro trip, so it's nice to see the journey again. I'm slowly catching up though!!

I've started just formatting my card everytime I get home now unlesss something AMAZING happened! I just don't have the time to be creating more backlog for myself!
 
Ah, I suppose I go out with the intention to create something rather than recording everything.

I can put up with the zoom etc that way but if I was just derp recording every day I'd want 1 tool for the whole job.
 
I do a bit of both. At the moment I've got enough 'purpose filmed' stuff so I'm just testing and recording just in case aliens land in Hamburg while I'm riding through.
 
I always record but only put a sync point in (assuming I have the hero on) if I'm going to vlog. I've got a long list of notes die to not getting out in the bike much these last 2 weeks.
 
Mind you, there's a little glitch between clips on the cameras anyway, slightly bigger one of the Drift than the GoPro.
 
Really? My GoPro's are frame perfect on their transitions, I've checked this in great detail!

Or do you mean with the sound?
 
The baby Hero had a tiny tiny glitch, maybe a frame, enough to catch your eye if you know the clip much is coming, there's one I noticed in a vid I've not published yet. Drift is a few frames and noticeable, although that was on the old firmware. Not tried it on the newer firmware.
