Wanderlust8760 - A German Motovlogger on Youtube
Hi guys,

some of my videos appear to be really shaky and Youtube offers me to improve my video. Do you use this feature and what are the results. Is is better to use the stabilization of Youtube or should I asked Adobe Premiere to stabilize it for me?

Second. Youtube likes to make it look like their product comes from a nice, shiny box with silver foil wrappings but actually it stinks :( . Let your software do the job - that's what all of those big buck paid for them are for :p ;) ~

I wouldn't let YT do any sort of editing. The video will come out like crap. Stabilization as a whole really is not good for motovlogs as there is too much movement and when you stabilize in edit it will end up zooming in to compensate for the corrections so you lose a lot of your FOV

Thanks for all of your feedback. I guess, if I'm going to stabilize it, I'll use Adobe Premiere.

@VRod - Thanks for the advice. That's a good point you made!

Added advantage to having it unlisted first is to allow YT to encode it to all available resolutions, it can take a few minutes.

I guess this only matters if you'll get tons of views in the first 2 hours after uploading :D But if you do, this is an excellent advice!

I'm not sure it matters how many views you get, every sub deserves the best picture their device/connection will allow.

Of cause they do, but on my channel it usually takes a few hours until the first view appears. Nevertheless they'll get a fully processed video, because I try to schedule it a week upfront.

Unless the video is really bad I would just leave it. Even the warp stabilizer in Premier can look weird. I did not see anything wrong with your last video. keep in mind YT will always say it can make it better...Dont lol

I don't let YT touch mine. Problem with stabilising on YT is that it won't account for text on screen and it moves all over the place. I don't stabilise at all, but if I were, it would be in the edit and not after I'd rendered and exported it.
Same man! I had them stabilize my video one time and OH MY Jeebus was that video all over the place! I would use a edits to help stabilize my videos.

I cant remember how, but i managed to get a split screen of it "stabilized" and normal together,

Normal was far superior...

i don't use "Youtube - Improve My Video" because I did not get better results. I've tried to use it and the results are worse. So , i don't use it

I used it once and didn't really like it. I prefer to do all my editing in the software that I use (Premiere CC).

Yup, as others are saying I tried using it and all it did was mess up my text. For sure was not satisfied :/
