11 years. 500+ videos. Countless kilometres. Zero regrets.
I just re-read my own introduction from 2015 and couldn't help but grin. "I try to find a proper helmet camera and microphone. My YT channel is about to be prepared." – Well, Fritz. You found that camera. And then another one. And another one.
What started as an experiment has turned into a full-blown passion project called KRADMELDER24. Over 500 films on YouTube, covering motorcycle tours across Europe – from the Norwegian fjords to the Carpathians, from the Pyrenees to Siberia and Mongolia, and from the rolling hills of Pomerania to the Scottish Highlands. The GS Adventure and I have been through more together than I could have ever dreamed back in 2015.
Currently, I'm publishing my Scotland series (#SCO25) – a multi-part adventure following eight slightly mad Germans on two weeks through the west of Scotland. Glenfinnan Viaduct, Glen Coe, the Lake District, ferries that don't run, 150 km detours that turn into the best part of the trip – the full programme. And because I believe good stories deserve a wider audience, I'm investing serious time into proper English subtitles for this series.
Beyond YouTube, I also run a dedicated motovlog homepage at motovlog.kradmelder24.de (in German, I'm afraid – but the videos speak a universal language). It's got route downloads as GPX files, gear reviews, blog posts, and a comprehensive list of 150 German-speaking motovloggers.
What I'm most proud of, though, is what grew around the channel: Team Kradmelder24 – a community of over 150 riders from Germany, Austria and Switzerland who meet regularly, chat on Telegram, and get together once a year for a long weekend of riding. From zero subscribers to annual meetups with 50 to 60 people showing up – that was never the plan, but it's the best thing that came out of all this.
My motto hasn't changed: ride with your brain switched on. No stunts, no speeding for clicks, no nonsense. Just honest riding, real travel stories, and the occasional dad joke at motorway service stations.
So yeah – Fritz is still here, Fritz is still riding, and Fritz is still filming. Only the hair situation has... evolved.
