So I'm setting up my custom channel URL and can't use my name unfortunately, despite there being no channels made already with it.

My ideas so far is; [Need to add to]

Custom URL works for me, the RoadSprocke is just your username not channel name. Should be able to change it back

Yeah, it took more than 20 seconds for it to change.. I guess I'm too impatient at times lol

I think he got his like I did.

I got my own unique URL at 0 subs because I had a channel since from like 2010. Before 2015 or 2014, there was no sub requirement.

I shared it with the gaming communities I'm part of which got the extra followers I needed, doubtful I'll get much more views/likes as the contents doesn't fit that audience but I'm now past that milestone!

I did on my first YouTube account, but forgot the email login I made for it and never setup any recovery/linked it I'll never make that mistake again!!!!!

Be careful doing it this way. I was having the same issue this past weekend, it wanted me to add things to my name, so I dropped the last couple letters in my name, created my URL with my full name. When I went to change my name back to my full name, it told me I have changed my name too recently and cant do it now. I have looked into this and it says you can only change 3 times in a 90 day period. I havent done 3 changes that soon, but I guess I am known as MIcruiserG for a while until I can change it again.

This seems to be a google+ restriction, not a youtube thing. Might there be a way to unlink the 2 so I can change my YT name, then link them back up?
