I personally wouldn't classify the CBR and FZ as being the same category either. The CBR is the next step up and is the middle ground between commuter and super sports, the riding position gives that away.

But we all know the CBR600F is a Suzuki anyway, eh Friz?

The FZ6 / Fazer and CBR600F are in the same category, roughly providing the same bhp and riding position the only difference would be the amount of fairing each gives you. If I had to put the bike manufacturers in order (the most common 4) for reliability it would be suzuki, kawasaki, yama, honda. But that's just me.

I'd put them in the same category too - faired or semi-faired middleweight bikes for about the same kind of money new. Sure the 600F is sportier and has a bit more power, but then not everything in a category has to be equal.

I'm not sure where you get your reliability info because I believe historically Honda are generally recognised as one of the most (if not the most) reliable out there - certainly ahead of Kawasaki/Suzuki, but I think these days with the newer bikes they're all much of a muchness.

Oh yeah I totally agree with you about the Fazer 600. I was talking about the bike the OP mentioned, the American FZ6R which over here is called the XJ6F. Funny and confusing name change, but the same bike.

The stock Fazer 600 and CBR600F are virtually identical in terms of power. CarlSant1 and I compared revs and speed while riding when he still had his and they were exactly the same.
The extra BHP on the CBR600F is thrown off by the added weight.

(Although mine now weighs less than the stock model thanks to a few changes, mainly the 10kg lost by changing the exhaust, but this was done after this test :) )

Out of the big 4 I totally agree with you for that in reliability.
As long as you're listing them from worst - best :D

This is also the exact same way a lot of other bikers see it. In fact, I've never met anyone as of yet that doesn't see it in this order.
