WTF .... What would you do??

As I normally do, I'd swear blue murder at him, and then probably see red and shove the DRIFT up his arse...

No, I'd just swear, geticulate and then drive on whining like a little girl!

If he had hit me trying to get past, there would have been more than a scratch in his car & that boot would have been his coffin.

For the insurance detail's he should give them, produce the footage & then the driver have to pay for wasting courts time, which does mount up quite swiftly.

Would also like to see the GoPro footage on the back of the bike. I think the GoPro footage will clear up what happend.

Why the car driver didn't brake I don't know

This video has really upset me.

Same here but i would have flattened the guy on the deck.
He never gave the guy time at all after coming off the roundabout he just barged past..

In fairness as well, the guy recording sounds very young, doubt he would have been such an arrogant and argumentative funk if it had been someone older and more experienced he'd had that incident with... I'd have had that footage to the cops, wouldn't have entertained him at all... See you in court, bye bye...

I like the point where he says.

OAP: What does the highway code say to you mate? Keep to the left!
Joe: "No it doesn't",
OAP: Thats what it says to me.

HAHAHA if it tells you to stick to the left, then why did you push past on the right between the curb & the rider surly you should have been on the left?

For a "driving instructor" to get out his car & swear at a Learner. That's where all respect for the situation goes out of the window. I would have taken my time, ignored him untill my heart wasn't pumping like a the speed of light & politely talked to him, if he swore like he did, I would have rode off, let the police deal with it.

You don't need to swap insurance details there & then, & 9/10 when a bike is involved a biker wouldn't get chance to swap details because the car driver is so inconsiderate that he obviously doesn't care about the saftey of the rider.

Couldn't have said it better Myself.

I watched this the other day...

I have no doubt at all that if he hit me on my bike then slammed his brakes on infront of me, and THEN came towards me swearing and throwing insults I would have put my carbon knuckles through his face.

I hope that c-word meets someone like me some day who he can't bully.

That guy needs his licence taking, he is a liability.

However, i can't help but feel (harking back to my 50cc days) that the actual crash could have been avoided. From the beginning of the film we can see the car is impatient to pass, in this situation i would have just forgotten about what was legally right in the situation and just let him go, yes it would mean that i had giving way when i didn't legally need to, but it would have got a clinical nutter in a very heavy weapon off my rear end, which would be far far safer!

What a dick, if he was my driving instructor I would have dumped him!

I read the highway code cover to cover in September for my Cbt and I'm pretty sure it didn't say stick to the left! Him being an instructor should have known a) not to do idiot things like that and then suddenly brake infront of you and b) if he was going to overtake give plenty of room oh and c) should know that learners are still only new on the road.

He is confusing advice to stay in the left hand lane unless you are overtaking or turning right with his idiotic idea that either bikes should stick to the left because the road was wider than a normal lane so that his precious jag could get past or that it should've been a two lane road. That's what I think he was trying to justify when he walked across trying to measure the road as if to say it was wide enough for two vehicles.

I've allways ridden in the middle of my lane as not only does it mean :
a) better visibility for me and others (if behind truck or something I'll drop back and make sure I'm in his mirrors)
b) more space to go evasive if some pillock does decide to cut really close
and c) sometimes puts others off from doing just that

still scares me no end when Dad rides on the Right (that'll be on the far left for you lot :P) as he's more vunerable to all that stuff)

car driver is an utter prick.

To be honest I'm quite looking foreward to RCN's responce to this (allso if you could tell me if my idea of good positioning is ok or not)

I ride to the right of the centre, I tend to look past the side of the car rather than the back of it.

If a car door was to open I'm in a postion where it won't effect me.
If a child was to run out into the road I'm far enough away from the curb to react.
If the car infront decides to brake late I can manover around him.
If the car driver infront is driving a little dangerously for my liking I will drop off or, just get ahead as I'm in a postion to see down the road at on comming traffic.
Cars on my right turning left will see me instead of me appearing behind a car & them knocking me off.

Thats some reasons why I ride close(ish) to the lane markings.
