Would you stop riding if . . .

It's funny how people think that they can decide what other people can or can't have.
Riding a motorcycle seems to be a frequent source of debate between couples.
I won't stop riding because someone just doesn't want me to. I don't care who it is.

Yea my convo went like this "You arent getting a bike" "Well I'm getting one regardless" "Then why are you even asking" "Cause I have to" "But you don't listen" "i don't have to do that" annnnnd now she likes my bike (i think) maybe "tolerates" is a better word?

Your significant other told you do ?

Four years ago my current wife told me I cant have a motorcycle I got one anyways she left me. Now were together, we both ride and loving life!

my fiance told me absolutely no bike, i didnt get the one i wanted but i ride a yzf600r , planning to get an fz1 or r1 she still acts like she hates it though she never hesitates to hop on the back

My wife was dead-set against me getting a motorcycle for many years. The only way I was able to get one was by telling her about the MSF course and taking it (and getting the gear, too - I got that in advance so that there was no way I could return it ;p ~). I don't think she thought I could pass ;) ... heh. She still worries about me going out but I think she trusts me more...

A lasting relationship it all about compromise. For a few years she let me grow out my hair even though she hated it... then came the time for the sacrificial cut :/ . It's all compromise ~_~ .....

TGB ... That sounds familiar!?! .... ... With all the things we talk over and 'discuss' ... She hardly bothered making an anti stance on me getting a bike! ... Sometimes when I'm home and grumpy ... She actually gets the shits and TELLS me to go for a ride! ........ ...... She knows I have a reasonable life insurance setup!! ....o_O The bitch!!!!!

... Lmao ;):D

Ha! These women aren't as soppy as they look!

no .. definitely not soppy.... until its time to change a lightbulb or tap washer or put air in her car tyres .... and that last one!!! .. ive offered to show her how on multiple occasions!! .. i dont mind doing it if im there... but what if she was out driving on her own and needed to do it!!? .... you know what!? .. i get a phone call "can you tell me where the nearest tyre shop is? ... the tyre is making a grindy noise" .... then im envisioning a collapsed bearing or bad brake pad etc etc ... no! ... it was down to 15psi and the sidewall was mumbling when she turned a corner!!

same as "i think i saw your mate today on his bike?!" .. 'oh yeah what bike and what mate?' ... "oh i dont know" ... 'colour?' (knowing this is as techy as its gonna get.. cos a brand or type is "outer limits" of identification) .. "no i dont know, but he was looking at my car i think?" ... 'probably at that underinflated tyre!!' ... "why are you being all snappy" ... 'sigh' ... o_O

;)

That's about right mate. "I saw a really nice car today!" "Oh, what was it?" "..... It was a red one"

I once got a call from 'er indoors complaining of a horrible squealing noise coming from the front of the car. She had pulled over and called the AA, she wasn't that far so I cycled over to wait with her... Fapping stone in the brake :\

When I met my wife 26 years ago all I owned was a Motorcycle and sold it for a car so when I said I wanted to buy another bike she said go for it.
She hates bikes and has never been on mine in 25 years but understands why I ride and has never stopped me from doing so.

Mrs Lurch doesn't like me riding at all. I had a 125 briefly 10 years ago, and returned to riding, did the proper test and got the one you see in my avatar late 2012. She didn't say no to me doing it, and initially you could see her not being in favour each time i headed out on the bike, she's more relaxed about it now, although she's still rather I didn't, and doing the RoSPA training I think is helping matters. Not expecting her to jump on the back anytime soon... :)

Today a co-worker told an interesting story about what happened last week.
A little background, he and his brother had bikes since a long time ago, he usually rides to work.

Past week has been a lot of trouble for his family and one day his little daughter told him not to ride. But not "ditch the bike", it was, "No, you won't be riding today". I think that's somebody you cannot say no to. He agrees, and he didn't ride that day.
