Winter Vlogging

Just wondered what you people's do regards your YouTube channel during the winter months?

This will be my 4th Winter on 2 wheels. In the past due to the dark mornings and dark evenings it meant that my commute has been less than sparkling. So I tend to struggle to find time to make the vlogs on a regular basis.

I'm currently uploading one vlog a week, but have about 4 weeks videos ready in the laptop for uploading should I have a quiet week or so. I have been wondering about trying to make some videos now whilst the weather is still good and keep them as bankers for the winter months.

What do you do?

I have some video banked. That being said, while I try to put out 1 a week, I'm not going to force a production. I think I could get more views with a few good quality vids than with a ton of little fillers...

I was thinking about recording some tours of local places of interest whilst the weather is still decent. Then release them over the winter at one a week as I do at the moment. The problem with making a bank of vlogs to release later is sometimes the subject could be out of date when you release it. I've already deleted one vlog by leaving it for a later date.

Maybe you could do some highlights of some warmer times? Perhaps a beachside ride when the gals are in the bikinis?

Another idea would be some nice open road riding on a sunny day?

I will probably turn my motovlog into an artvlog, or something more mundane. No way I'm riding in the winter, nor am I able to make highlight reels.

Ha. Nice idea about a beach ride except Ms Captain Slow is always on pillion if I'm off for a ride out. Could always argue the case that she looks at shop windows as we ride through towns.

Well, you could mic her up and she could give the female perspective.

Might open up your vids to whole new audience!

I have already done this. Started with 'Sync the Planet', also she had the camera on a ride to Squires Bike Cafe. Although my subscriber and view count has increased since I don't want to give all the praise to my pillion rider. After all I am the star of my YouTube channel.

I have had some positive feedback from the dual microphone vlogs though and it is something that I am looking to increase.

I seen a lot of people build up there footage during the nice months and use them during the bad! also I figure Car vloging and wishing your where on your bike a good call as well

Speaking as a viewer, not an author... banked footage is fine. Car vlogging, while pretending or wishing to be on two wheels... not so much.

And on that comment I am so glad I don't have a car!
sad thing for me is I live in a very rainy state so I might have to do a car vlog now and agin! i running in to the issues right now where I had to leave town and do not have my bike so I am not sure what to do but good news it I have now subs so I can just keep posting to keep on YT new content maker good side and just push throw this year and get the pick up on the next year!

I've seen some vloggers get a 4 wheeler or dirt bike and have fun in the snow and keep sharing thoughts while on a 4 wheeler. Or a few vids of mods your making to your bike over the winter months. Just some thoughts.

Thanks for that.

Have thought in the past about getting a 125cc scooter for the winter and just having a laugh.

I'm thinking of doing some instructional vids when it becomes too cold to ride.
They work well. Last year I did a whole host of videos for the Yamaha R125. These were specifically aimed at teenagers who get one as a first proper bike but are unsure about how to keep it looked after. Actually these videos are my most viewed on youtube.

Going to start with some how to vids, then go into gear and bike opinions...I like your idea of the first time rider crowd too, lot of viewers...it's what persuaded me to finally get a bike in the first place.

A lot of guys bank footage and release them over the winter. I've gotten use to people disappearing during the winter months and look forward to their return.

Me personally I keep going as I live in Florida.

here what I had to do this week to keep the YouTube monster fed to keep the analytics hiring a new channel hope you guys enjoy
