Anyways, I'm not picky at all with the colors, give me a plain black one, a red one, a white one, anything at a good price and I'll ride. I'd even proudly ride the Leyla edition.
Now, back to the camera, the Drift Ghost in my opinion has a bit more video quality compared with the Drift HD when capturing out in the sunlight. Also a couple more features like the 2 way remote and all the software gizmos like tagging and flashback.
About the camera hardware, it uses the Ambarella platform, the same as the gopro and the Liquid Image cameras, a platform I dislike too much to recommend. The quality and the insides of the cameras are the same so you can compare footage from any of the other cameras and will be, more or less, the same. Take into account that with any ambarella camera, your videos will be cut at the 29 minute mark, they don't record continuously and you'll lose a few seconds of video between the cuts.
Video quality at night plainly sucks, a drift HD or an old gopro are unrivaled in night recording, the current generation of cameras just assume you'll be recording always at daytime.
For a nice, all around and cheap camera which has enough features and is a little bit limited in video quality, I recommend the Drift HD.
I'm not convinced at all with the price tag on the new generation of cameras just for a small improvement in video quality.
This is night riding with the drift HD, the ghost just gets a blue blob in the centre of the screen.
