Who Is Running More Than 1 Camera?

Throughout my recent euro tour series I had a Drift HD on my helmet and 2 Drift HD170's which I attached all over the bike during my rides.

My particular favourites were:

'bugeye panorama'
'Cubist panorama'
And top of the list,
'Long Distance Pillion Cam'!!

I had horrific reliability issues with the cameras though, so this year I've ditched them ALL and have 2 Sony action cams that I'm still figuring out how best to use.

I've just done a new video trying out different ways of showing 3 camera angles, I'm still not sure what works best:

Now I know from experience that you want folks to say "All three at once" because that means less work for you in editing! BUT, if you're like me you actually want to create a cinematic and engaging experience with fancy cuts, edits and whizzy bits!!

I tend to decide based upon how much time I have. If I need a quick edit, then it's fixed stuff. If I have a full weekend, then I brew a gallon of coffee, pull on the tracky-b's and have at it!!

Once you have them synced up, leave all 3 in the edit and turn off the layer you don't want at any given time, I don't find two cameras that much hard work to edit with...

I'm leaning towards two different styles:

1 - Chin/Crotch cam static PiP setup with only edits for "vlogs"

2 - Cut all 3 views, one at a time, in a 2.4 aspect ratio for the nice views

Edit: Dropbox is playing silly buggers!

Haha on the first pic I though you were really hanging in a corner on a motorcycle on a snowy road...damn that scared me :D

I was thinking about the same thing...I love the pic-in-pic one since you can always see everything and it adds to emotion when your talking (a bit of body language) and it's more personal.

I like the one with full-screen video's with cuts when it's more of a scenic video. When I get 2 camera's I think I will mix and match....picture in picture when talking...and when it's about the scenery use full screen video's...in a nice corner switch views...stuff like that!

That's exactly how I'm going to run things.

1 - Simultaneous dual view for run of the mill derp vlogs

2 - Mix all three together, one at a time in 2.39:1 ratio, for scenic videos.

Best way to do it! I think the same can apply for 3 camera's...I would still want the face ([edit] I was almost going for facial here...noooo[/edit]) view whilst talking...

Wow so many cameras.

I'm currently running on 1 Drift, probably will upgrade to a GoPro for the quality and may use drift for another angle.

I am owner of 2 cams as of today...video is in the vlog section. And I must say, I will have fun with this :D

Even though I do not have a motorcycle yet I have already thought of camera placement. One on the helmet (duh), and the other on the tail probably. If I'd get a 3rd (which might happen... dat 4K action cam DOE!) I'd probably do exhaust cam, or maybe front fender cam!
