Yea, motor vehicles are generally overpriced here as a revenue source for the motor department.
If you wanna know how much it costs to buy a car here, just take the MSRP at the country of manufacture, add a 20%-150% import tax depending on the model (Vios would be close to 20%, and a Porsche GT would be closer to 120%), then you add the prevailing 10 year ownership certificate premium, which is currently between 40k-60k depending on engine size, and then maybe 1 or 2k for the misc administrative fees.
Bikes are cheaper but follow the same sequence, just that the import tax is usually at most 50%, and the ownership certificate is 6k right now, and administrative fees are a few hundred at most.
This is not including insurance and road taxes. Just the cost of buying the car.
