just wondering who all on here is on a supermoto. i like watching the supermoto motovlogs they always seem to have a hoon factor to them and its allot more entertaining. maybe because they can go anywhere they want.

I do! But now i'm afraid of doing wheelies cause I just crashed it and it burned a little hole in my pocket.

Oh and the police nabbed and impounded a local group doing wheelies on public roads. :P

Damn that's rough. They give you $1000 ticket here for first offense. 3rd is crush your bike. I would find a place not on a road like a parking lot in the middle of nowhere and do some wheelies. They are just really fun.

Lol, I don't know....I have never been athletic and don't know if I can really learn how to do it :)

I started with 1st. Just let the bike slow down to about 5-6k rpm and the open up the throttle. At first you will probly do very small wheelies but you will start to get higher and higher the more comfortable you feel. Don't pull up on the bars I tried that and messed up my wrist pretty good.

I want to get a Supermoto. The vlogs do seem really fun because you can explore so much! Unfortunately I doubt they're available in India (except for a Kawasaki which is exhorbitant).

The problem is that most non-locally produced bikes in India are exhorbitant. You pay close to twice or thrice the US rate. India has been a fuel economy focused market for a long time. Use of motorcycles for anything outside commute is only something that started to grow popular over the last 10 years.

The only one I could think of that I could try is this. :P http://www.heromotocorp.com/en-in/the-bike/impulse-50.html

Yea, I realized something about bikes in India, it's like the government are mimicking the way China does things. Either foreign companies partner with local companies like Hero or Bajaj and make a bike for the domestic market using domestic labour, or face extremely high import taxes if you bring your own model into the market.

So it ends up that if you want to buy a bike made in Japan or Europe, you have to pay extremely high whereas locally made bikes end up being cheaper for the same relative bike.

Do they have any dirt bikes for less? You can always convert a dirt bike. All you need here is a dirt bike with a title then add all the stuff to make it road legal. That bike doesn't look like the best. For one its air cooled which I'm not a fan of at all and it's only 150cc and makes almost no power.

I trust the things made in Japan. They have been doing great for years and they make some really great cars also. But I do like they huskys

That's true. And it's really sad for riders here. To give you guys an example, the BMW S1000R is priced at $13,495 on their website. That's roughly 900k INR for us. The price it's sold at here is 3.5 mil INR.

This is the only other dirt bike aside from a Kawasaki that I can think of. If this even is a dirt bike. And also, 150cc here is relatively big. :P On average most people use 110 to 150cc bikes. All fuel economy focused ones.

That price increase is ridiculous. I have a 400cc and its small compaired to most supermotos. Not on engine size it's just a little under but how much power it produces. I like having all the power I can to do things. My drz is pretty fuel efficient it gets about 40 mpg which is better then most cars. That will change here shortly. My car is getting bored out 4mm so allot more air and fuel coming into it.

Actually, 150's are pretty good enough. Traffic isn't fast in most countries outside the US and Canada and distances travelled isn't as insanely far.

Also, there's really no reason to buy a powerful machine if you live in a country where people buy motorcycles to remain affordable and commute on it.

And if you are like my aunt living in California screaming about US$2 per gallon for gas, wait till you travel to Europe and Singapore where we pay the same price....for half the amount of gas.

I ride my bike because it's fun. If I cared about fuel economy on a motorcycle I would buy a bone stock Honda grom. There is always a reason to have power it makes things really fun. I wouldn't complain about $2 a gallon it was $5 a gallon not very long ago. I lived in Korea for a year and the gas prices were pretty high if I remember right. I didn't have a vehicle there but I would look sometimes. Most people there take public transportation tho.

Ridiculous is an understatement. Especially when you consider the average earning potential. But it is what it is. Nothing you can do about it.

Haha! 400cc here is considered very powerful here. :P Though I do get your point about the power.

Yea I couldn't do it. I see allot of countries where the wages are low but cost of living is high I don't get it. I only make 40hp with a couple mods. I should make around 60hp after my big bore and stroker install. But if I was gonna buy a dirt bike I would go for a 250.

Unfortunately I don't see any 250cc affordable dirt bikes sold here.
