Where did you get your (YT) Name?

I just created/uploaded a new avatar pic.

I'm wearing the very same red scarf that got me my nickname 13yrs ago :D

Mine came about by accident really. I have been known online in various circles by another name for a few years but was looking for a new persona for my adventure style stuff.

Motorbikes, kayaks, mountain biking and hiking kind of thing as opposed to my mostly health related stuff with my other persona.

So I wanted something with adventure in the title and tried all sorts of things, eventually added the Aus as I am in Australia and that did not work in a few variations either.

So then there was a suggestion from YouTube to put a Mr in front of it. So I did it, ended up with MrAusadventure and created accounts in all other social networks to match. :)

I had real trouble with mine as i wanted to incorporate what i do to allow people to easily identify me as a biker and also include something that meant something to me/about me. I ended up with Dexterbiker purely and simply because i am obsessed with the Dexter TV series, also it is a name i love and my Wife weirdly wont allow me to name our next child (assuming it be a boy) am guessing this is due to the nature of Dexter's character in the show. i also wanted something i could go online with that wouldn't identify me to friends and relatives. I have had some bad press at even the thought of me doing this from people i know, don't ask me why because i don't know so i wanted to go at it completely alone and allow the judgement of everyone else take precedence instead of friends trolling and thinking its funny lol. I think all of that makes sence

I used to play Delta Force Black Hawk Down an insane amount, my gaming name has been LoneRanger for a while, they always used to call me 'Jolly', and then I went for the happy pirate theme :P

I used to play that game too, and how I got my nickname is from Delta Force 2, awesome! :)

The story - I used to play this game alot and this one particular guy who I would just keep on killing left and right, and without a single death from him. He kept shooting at me and finally after I got him again, he said "man you are like a rogent, I can't get rid (or kill) of you!" . I just thought that would have been awesome name for future use. The 'X' is a letter in my last name.

I used to teach English in Japan. When I would talk to the students I would say, "That's crazy" a lot. I would use it in situations where you'd say, "awesome," "wow," "whoa," etc. Anyway, I said it so much my students started calling me, "crazy-sensei."

I liked it because it made me sound more badass than I was. Lol So, I changed the spelling of crazy to krayzie and started using it on forums. Once I came back to the States and started my YouTube account I didn't even have to think about it. I knew what my name was going to be: krayziesensei.

Oooo...I like this story. It is a very cool name.

The "Toast" part of my name came from when I used to play Diablo II...I think I was in middle school or something. I watched a movie by Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen in 2002 (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0307535/) and there was a character in the movie called "Toast" who was kind of an airhead and cool...and I thought it was a neat nickname. So I named on of my Diablo II characters Toast. Then eventually I made a Diablo II account with a "Toast" variation. The name pretty much stuck to my gaming names whenever I would game, and kind of bled over into the internet forum world and such. When it came to making a motovlogging username, I was Toast something in Live Video, then wanted to think of something different for YouTube. I wanted Toast to be in there...and at the time I started motovlogging YouTube, I was working at a restaurant in the "To Go" section or the "take-out" section. And since toast is also a food, I figured... "ToastToGo" works pretty well since it could either mean getting some toast for takeaway or my online name plus my occupation!

PS...don't ask why I watched that movie. Probably because I thought the chicks were cute or something...probably.

I've had my nickname so long that I honestly have no idea where it came from. I think it must have been a childhood thing . . . but can't really be sure. In addition to being my YT tag, it's also my gamer tag on most platforms (actively on PS3).

I dig it. :D

Some interesting stories you guys have.

Well its a bit of a long story ya see... I'm welsh, I walk EVERYWHERE and absolutely love it and I started motovlogging in 1886.

Self explanatory me thinks :D

Sorry walkvlogging*

I'm confused...where is this 1886 number displayed? And why are you at least 127 years old? Lol

And why are you talking about walking? I'm even more confused now.

Well, to start, I had just gotten a tattoo on my left leg, and I would use Lubriderm after for the post-tattoo care. A few days later, I tore a bunch of ligaments in my foot/broke 2 bones in my foot playing basketball, (okay.. okay.. I did it *celebrating* making a game-tying shot..... I know.) Because of this I was forced to wear this huge boot on my leg for like 2 months, temporary handicap parking blah blah blah, and my college roommates started calling me Bootsie Derm ---> BootsieD88. I also swear that 88 is not my birth year.

Haha sorry its just my sense of humour, I figured my name would be rather self explanatory (Im scottish, I'm a rider of bikes and I started vlogging in 2011) so I decided to say complete opposite meanings to amuse myself.

senthx, it's made from two characters from a sci-fi film THX1138 and SEN5241 sen and thx = senthx

thx1138 is my usual name, it's tattooed on my head, but it was taken.

Mine is sorta random, I originally started playing a game called Runescape in 2004, which my brother made me an account, with a rather stupid name (bearing in mind he was like 12 - I was 8.) However I've adopted it to every other internet related thing aside from motovlogging - as my original youtube got took down, I can't really remember why. My friend had created a name called Stripy----, and we were playing Minecraft and for no apparent reason we were breaking Ice, I then decided to adopt that as my yt name, by combining Stripy from his name and Ice from Minecraft. Resulting in Stripyice, and now anything to do with motovlogging I usually just use a variation of Ice, Icey etc.
TL;DR
Stole half my friends name, was destroying ice on minecraft, put them two together.
Mainly cause I figured I could recover my original YT.
(I'm bored, decided to just type and see what came up).

My original name was MrFiction - which I first used in MSN chatrooms around 2000 when I first came online. That name gained infamy through my 'Playpen Of Doom' group I set up - very controvercial stuff with freedom of speach resulting in many arguments and stuff you don't even want to know about! The group was getting more hits and comments per day than the 'offiial' MSN groups for their chatrooms!

MrFiction because I was a writer, and I'd just read 'Mr Fiction' by Dean Koontz.

At it's height, I was just starting to blog, but I wanted to blog about stuff I couldn't say there as so many knew me, and so picked the alias NastyEvilNinja for my MSN blog. This gave me freedom to write what I wanted (which attracted Police attention at one point :? ).

I chose the name because it was completely different to the other one, but also because I AM a real life modern Ninjutsu student, and I'm, you now... a bit nasty. And evil.

I gained a lot of new friends through both names, so decided to use NastyEvilNinja on YouTube, but calling my channel The Playpen Of Doom.

My blogs are much mellower now on Wordpress, and nobody can prove I did anything. :|

I love war movies and always have done, must of watch em all including the bad ones that no one can bother to watch. Now one war movie that I like and I am sure most if not all of you know is 'A bridge too far' and there is a great line in it that Gene Hackman delivers to the English commanders about his Polish para's being dropped days late and a good few miles off target.

Gene Hackmans carecter says something about this cockup being the Thunderous... I just loved the way the expression was used and delivered and always remembered it.

It has nothing to do with the meaning of the word but proves to be fairly apt.

Premises because I used to work in the security industry and our radio call sign was "premises". Saying "premises receiving, go ahead" was a daily norm.
I actually wanted to be Premises13 because the number 13 actually does bear some relevance to me. But obviously it sounded too much like I was trying to copy the big man Mordeth.
So anyway I went for 187 because it's a police code for killer. Killer because back in my infantry days we were trained to do it. Seniors would often refer to us as "trained killers" or "steely eyed dealers of death". Shouting while bayoneting sand bags was particularly fun.

The original Premises187 channel was closed in 2009 for copyright violations. Back then background music on a video could get you easily banned.
New channel 187premises was started in October 2009.
