General What's The Hardest Thing About Vlogging To You?

The hardest thing for me at the moment is finding the time to vlog. I leave for work at 2:30am and with neighbors on both sides being police officers where I live, I try not to piss of the natives.... When I go back to normal hours shortly then back to vlogging everyday!

hardest time for me is finding roads to ride on where i have not recorded yet. also trying to plan rides with people. seems like something always happens where it does not work out. i just want to ride lol

Yep, I know what you mean there, I have to make a decent effort to get out and vlog, I work for most of the day then there's usually only 1/2 hour of sunlight left before its dark and my go pro hero 2 is not the greatest lowlight camera haha I find myself more often then not strapping on the camera then taking there long way home just to get a vlog in!

Hardest for me is.. my habit of saying ummmm ...ummmm...hmmmm

Jeepers I have a terrible habit of this too! The amount of YEAH'S and UMMS I have to edit out is crazy, When I listen back to the raw footage I'm always face palming! lol

Yeah, When I first got my licence I was hassling everyone out to come ride, Ya get used to it after a while lol

So much exactly, at the moment. Trying to think of something to talk about. Especially since I generally vlog on my commute, where my brain is a bit mushy.

I find the hardest thing is to make it through the editing.

I try and record even when I am not motovlogging, just in case something interesting happens. Now I am swamped in video from every ride. I don't have the time to go through it all and find the highlights.

I wish I had a timestamp button on my handlebars. Then I could record all the time but mark highlights of things I want to go back and check.

Timestamp would be handy! I did that for a while but ran into the same problems plus it was chewing up my hdd space like nothing haha I think I have found a happy medium now!

Yeah I also record everywhere I ride, primarily for security incase someone cuts me off, or crashes into me and tries to blame it on me...

A really handy tip is, if you catch anything interesting while recording... honk your horn a few times, or actually yell "BEEP BEEP BEEP"!

You can then easily, in your video editing software see the three honks in the audio level as the massive "spikes" hence you know where the interesting thing happened!

This is just a totally random thing pinched off the net, but you catch my drift! The spikes in audio = interesting stuff

And as for the HDD space... I just delete my footage every 2 weeks. If I've not used it in a video within two weeks, it's not worth having.

Great Tip! I acctuly do this to see where I start talking in the vid as the wav form changes, Didnt think about it for a marker for long takes! Nice touch!

Similar to what I do, but without the "beep beep" bit.
Mainly, I just drop the clip into Movie Studio and visually scan for - to me - tell tale wave forms of speech. Because normally I'll have commented about what I've just seen.

Which reminds me, I need to figure out how to zoom in with movie studio... (:

I know those feels... especially when shooting in RAW, and I used to use photoshop to edit.

Yeah I don't format the drive. I just have a folder specifically for my motorcycle footage that I wipe every couple of weeks. Ps, I used to be right into my photography as well! Here's a couple of old pics
