What Have You Done To Your Bike Today?

Yessss...pictures...just the way this thread is meant to be done. 8-) Cool mods! I may have to look into using my turn signals as running lights in the future.

With the setup kit that I installed I have the choice of selecting if I want all the rear lights to flash on brake, the outer turn lights, or just the center light.

My philosophy is the more light and attention grabbers the better. Without going to the point of being distracting of course. I would hate to think that I caused an accident because of too many things going on that it becomes a distraction to others.

Though I did see a sweet little CBR 600 RR with some nice accent lighting under the tail and in the fairings.

With plenty of tension in my life right now, and a daily analysis of what to do, Tuesday was a good day to clear the mind.

I pulled my sv650 out of the garage, and broke the oil change cherry on it. It's nice to know with full fairings I can still access the filter and plug. While debating if I should even try riding, I broke out the mineral spirits and cleaned off the chain and sprocket real good. It was a moot point once that teflon lube sprayed everywhere. This was followed up by a good soak and wipe down of the exterior.

Of course I had to go for a quick ride. I could see the brake light modulator working in my rear view mirror showing the side of the house covered in the red glow.
I am now the envied asshole on my facebook, because I was the first in our group to get a ride in. And it was good.

I've made a promise to myself to make the ride to deal's gap in the next 3 months.

Replaced the headlight and tail light after a rogue pothole knocked them both out simultaneously.

I don't know why I bother paying my road tax, I really don't.

Road Tax (actually Vehicle Excise Duty) doesn't actually go into the maintenance of the roads, roads are maintained using budgets from central government which have been slashed of late :)

I'm stealing this idea from another forum, because I feel as if it creates nice conversation and the occasional post from time to time.

The concept is simple...do something to your bike today and want to share? Post it here. For example: I changed the oil today / gave the bike a nice wash / I beat my girl up on some back roads. Anything will do. Have a picture? then post that as well!

Doesn't have to be something you did that exact day, could be a few days old.

I will start:

I changed out the spark plugs on my F4i because the bike randomly did not want to start anymore. Now it's running much better. 8-)

hey i got the same bike you do ^^ have you had any problems with the camchaintensioner? mine is starting to go and sadly my babt only has 33K kms on the ODO,
oh and another question, what did you pay for those spark plugs? i hear they are pretty expensive...
i'm probably gonna do a vid on that CCT soon as i'm gonna change it out myself.

and tomorrow i'm dropping her off at the shop for some new tyres ^^ Went for Dunlop Sportmax Qualifier 2. any thoughts on that guys?
probably gonna do a little vid on the tyre-replacement too...
gotta let the old tyre go with a bit of a nice funeral (read: burnout) yeah? ^^

That's not very long..

Good ones are pretty pricy, but you only need 4 and they last a very long time.

Shoulda went with Pilot Road 3s. All the traction you'll ever need on the street and they last so long it's scary.

My f4i didn't have any problems. I only had it for like 5,000 miles though. Sold it with right under 6,000 miles I think. I didn't like riding that bike that much haha. My CCT in my Triumph Street Triple right now is starting to make more noise than usual. I've only got 16k miles on the bike and it's starting to go bad I believe. However...changing it out isn't that hard of a job for me. It's probably harder on the F4i though.

I found my plugs on Amazon for a decent price. Like $12 a plug or something? I wonder if that sounds right. But it's not too much if you think about how long the plugs last.

I'm with Trinith on this one...I'm all about sport touring tires...plenty grippy for me with a long life expectancy for just commuting and putting around. No reason for a sport tire unless you want to hit the track. But others will disagree with me saying that they need that extra stickiness for the street because they want to be some boy racer on public roads or something. If the weather is warm enough or the tires are warm enough, a sport touring tire like the pilot road 3s are amazing. Do really really well in the rain too. And last a long time.

Bought and fitted panniers :D

That's a pretty wide margin. Where are you coming from?

Depends, I'm interviewing for jobs in NY and Texas, so depending on what happens, I'm either coming from Capitol Region of NY or San Antonio, TX.

The gap is to allow buffer for preparation, request time off, and friends joining along.

Makes sense. San Antonio sucks, but it's better than NY! ;)

There's a motovlogger meetup near Deals Gap every August. It's fallen on tough times lately, but we're trying to revive it over the next few years.

Finally cleaned and lubed the chain. I was honestly surprised seeing a different color than black (actualy I managed to clean it to the almost new-like state). Also carried my bike to the shop. It's going to get a shot called Dynojet stage 1 kit and proper tuning.

I need to clean my chain this week. Going to give that Muc Off Chain Doc a try see if it's better/worse than the brush.
