This is a fantastic vlog idea!! I think I may have to take on from your video and post a video response vlog with my opinion on buying subscribers! I really hope (and don't think) that many of the bigger vloggers have bought any of their subs - I think they've mostly earned it! But sometimes you people people with 10,000 subs ... but only 1 thumbs-up on a video .. that's when you know haha!

My opinion: NOPE!! No way. It can DESTROY your Youtube Analytics FOREVER. In 2+ years if you become bigger (the legit way), your analytic will be completely bonk because you'll have in your history of those fake bought subscribers! No way!! Plus, it's all fake and very easily seen through... 10,000 subscribers but 0 viewer engagement. That's what it comes down to - viewer engagement.

I'd rather have 600 subscribers with people commenting, interested in your videos, discussing your vlogs and the topics you discuss RATHER 10,000 fake subscribers with 0 comments.. because there is nobody "real" to comment haha!

Buying subs seem pointless because you have more subs doesn't mean more people will subscribe, I think. As for monetizing I'm not sure either but I would think that it is not worth annoying your subs until you have 1000+ views per video.Cheers

That's kind of the way I think too. I occasionally have a video that has much higher than expected view counts, but this is because I post some videos that have cross-genre appeal I guess. So they get a fair amount of traffic from other youtube communities. But I did notice a definite trend in much smaller channels starting out as monetized which made me wonder about it's value.

I monetize all my non-music videos. However I only put ads on the right ride of the videos. Never before the videos play or overlay within the video. As for buying subs, gross. Natural growth is the only way, it gives you the sense of feeling that 1k or however many subs you really have enjoy your video and may watch again instead of 10k subs that you only get like 100 views from a video uploaded 30 days ago.. Hmmm, I'd feel like crap if I had tons of subscribers and no views!

It can be very frustrating at first to gain the subs, and you get the natural sub for sub. But i do this because its fun not to get the biggest amount of subs. Why go to all that effort of editing and rendering if no-one will watch them. i have 64 subs but i know most of them will watch the effort i put into them vids. natural is always better than plastic. But thats my thought you do what you want to fill the void pal!!

PS just realised you were asking not saying you were doing... but thats my thoughts

to me views are more important then subs. I know i will never make it as a vlogger so next best thing for me is make a bunch of videos that are different and people want to see because they are funny. I work on getting views and if people like my videos they will sub in time.

I think everyone starting out has that popping into their head at first but discount it quite quickly.

So it kinda seems like some people read the title and didn't quite catch the message in the video: To make it more clear: I would NEVER buy subs, or consider buying subs. In the video I explain I think it is lame and would never do that. The question I have is whether or not to eventually monetize my channel...a totally different issue. But thanks everyone for the comments!
