General Well... I got a new bike.

So, for forum members here who end up with a backlog of videos, you'll know just how painful it was to keep this secret for 2 months... but I managed, somehow. Anyway, I hadn't bought a new bike in 5 years, and one just spoke to me - and it gave me a chance to do some neat effects in Davinci Resolve [one of which I showed a how-to on my 2nd channel]... but here's the new bike reveal video!

You actually went for it and got a new one? I'm itching to seeing it. Might be a sleepless night to get through the videos in the queue.

Thanks, guys! Yeah, I've had this under my hat for 2 whole months... it's been difficult, being on livestreams, publishing videos, and NOT spilling the beans!

Now I've got content for the whole month around different parts of it :D

And upgrade videos to do.

And you're right, @Theodor - the subject of the pics IS why they looked good!

-John

Nice, you upgraded from that Batwing to a Sharknose! You finally saw the light, I'm happy for you!

Thanks! I was out yesterday in high winds [20+mph], and it was pretty good... until about 2 hours in. I got fatigued. I haven't ridden much in the past few months, so I got tired from bracing myself against the wind. The bike didn't much care about the wind, though :D

Buy a large speaker and Memorex tapes to set up for workouts.

I need to remember that, when someone says size does not matter.
It might not be the size that matters (since my SG was about the same size/weight), but how the tip of it is shaped, that makes a difference. That big, bulbous frame-mounted fairing means it stiffens up when hit by the winds, from the front or sides.

-John

Good idea! I used to not ride the SG when the winds were 15+, because getting me AND the bike shoved around that much just wasn't fun. This new bike is quite different in that regard.

Yep, Street Glides ride in the wind while Road Glides cut through the wind. Big difference between the two, its why most people who buy Road Glides never go back to the Batwing fairing.

Now, imagine this, the new Goldwing rides even BETTER in windy conditions than a Road Glide does. ;)

Oh here we go. Goldwing vs Tour Glide :p

I will say having both the batwing and the shark nose - they handle totally different one a couple of levels

I can flick the batwing around tight turns at slow speed and the hairpins at higher speeds. The shark nose has more weight on the neck and crash bars so there is that leverage effect.

The sharknose loves high speed even on gusty days. The batwing telegraph buffeting into the forks and handlebars.

The batwing stock speakers sounds better than stock speakers in the shark nose.

So it is cool to go back forth between the two.

Maybe in 5 years I will add a Road King or Springfield to the mix.

After this past weekend - I don't know how much better it could be! I got fatigued after 2 hours, but only because I was bracing my body against the wind, not fighting the bike like I used to.

I can see that difference, or rather, feel it... but I have been practicing some slower-speed stuff, and I find the new RG really feels good, no matter what speed you're going. I still haven't had it on the highway, but on the higher-speed back roads, it's been very stable and confidence-inspiring in its handling.
