Uploading Lane Splitting Vids?

That doesn't come with the right to take my things and void my privacy.

The recent legal battle with megaupload should have been enough to show you that once you upload it to the internet it's no longer yours. Once it's out, it's out. If 'they' want to take it off YT you're not going to be able to stop them.

I do think it's a 5th amendment violation, but that's also been shown to not be the case so far. They also don't have to prove to an absolute T that it was you. They only have to beat the burden of reasonable doubt, which is surprisingly easy, especially when the video is of your bike, on your channel which features other videos of you riding along with your voice, uploaded from your IP address, filmed in your general location... Think about the caliber of brain power that will make up your jury, and start writing your check to the DPS! ;)

Oh, no THAT part I agree with. If you post it, it's up. That's not a whole lot different than telling someone you did something illegal. It's practically a confession, they just have to prove it's you still.
I am talking about me riding around and a cop arresting me and seizing my camera for their case against me. THAT is wrong and unacceptable.
The other part of that is a lot of the lawsuits are in the US. So every country has its quirks.
Has anyone else heard of any big lawsuits in their countries as far as copyright infringement, etc?
I'm normally pretty calm towards cops, but there was recently an event that happened in LA that's been boiling my blood
(it will be at bottom, skip over if you don't care)

I'd have to agree again on the 5th as well. Again though, this would be specific to our country.
I'd assume other countries have pretty specific Bills of Rights, especially Britain. Since, you know, that's where we got ours from ;P
And that is true as well unfortunately.
My biggest hope is that if I ever get chased it's during rush hour and it's not a biker cop.

So, the thing that's been having my blood boiling lately is an incident that happened in LA a couple days back.
Basically, a guy is filming the cops. Completely legal. He's on the opposite side of the street on a far corner.
So, these 2 cops start looking at him and start walking his way. Guy probably realizes this might be best for him to put his dog up, so he puts the dog in the car. Mind you, it's around 100F that day.
Well, cops start arresting him for (WTF ever BS they made up) and the dog doesn't like his master being attacked. As mentioned, 100F degree day. Car has windows rolled down about halfway. Dog jumps out and goes to master, but cowers around the cops. They start to back the dog up and then one of them kinda does some pathetic swatting at the dog and the dog kinda swats back at the aggressor.
Dog gets pumped full of lead out in the street and is killed in front of his owner and the entire neighborhood.
If you want the video, YT search "hawthorne" and it will be all over the autofill. Hawthorne cop kill dog if that doesn't work.
Now if anyone here has ever watched a video of mine, I have said it before, I love animals, hate people.
I'm going to try to limit the expletives here, but these cops were Fin pathetic. It is entirely their fault for what happened and what they did. Yes, the guy could have rolled his windows up more. Or not filmed the police. However he's completely legally protected to film them in public. He wasn't hiding it or in anyones face.
If you take out any wrong-doing, it all comes down to him being illegally arrested.
//end rant
Sorry guys!

tl;dr-
The cops have been getting away with too much. And now I think they've really F'd themselves up the bunger. Twice, without lube, with a pineapple.
It's unacceptable and pathetic and it needs to be fixed.

I been posting videos for years with my face, plate and speedo showing and never had any hassles...I was even on a current affair in a story about hooning lol.
Its to hard for them to prove without doubt its you in the video and i think they prefer to hoon around chasing us in their SS commodores.
The only way they will get yah is if they catch you on the road speeding etc and confiscate your video camera.

Brad- I think you are right.
But there is that little paranoid voice in my head that makes me shy away from being too personal. Maybe it makes it easier when you can be behind a helmet and not so exposed?

I always tell people that if we flood youtube with 1000's and 1000's of riding videos the police just wouldnt have the time or manpower to prosecute anyone and in the end they would make no more revenue then catching people the old way (probably less).

Good point!!!
I just don't want to end up being the example they make when they do get around to it though.
I wouldn't have any luck if all my bad luck went away haha

I think the same...Ive probably got the most naughty riding vids in Australia so id definitely be a target lol :D
I probably would've given up posting videos a long time ago if it wasn't for the amount of awesome people of met over the years and making nearly enough cash to quit my shitty job.

I've talked to a few fellow motovloggers/recorders but only one personally and he's even less known than I am.
I've got to try building my following more, but that'll come with time and exposure.
Plus if you can't do wheelies like Jake TGS, you're up a creek without a paddle

Yeh wheelies help out a lot lol :D

My old 84 Honda Nighthawk doesn't do wheelies. She's a sexy beast, but too mature for the shenanigans. lmao
Shameless plug-
Check out my vids and let me know what you think!

Same here, although you can change Australia for the Netherlands

About them wheelies, even if i can make them, i probably won't, because i don't see the need of it ;)

They just seem to be subscriber magnets!

Yeah, but i don't have to be the biggest vlogger out there.
I mostly do it for myself and if people like my vlogs they subscribe.

At this moment i'm at almost 200 subs, which is great.
And afcourse i'm happy everytime i see that number grow, but if it would stick at 190 and only slowly get 2 subs per year extra, i wouldn't mind that, because that means almost 200 people love me and my vlogs for what i do and am.
Not because i make wheelies, follow trends or such things ;)

That's very true too!
I would just enjoy being able to do some goofy stuff myself.
That's the fun stuff!

Believe me, you can always do goofy stuff, with practically every bike out there

Haha absolutely.
I do some sidewalks every once in a while and a few goofy things as such, but nothing really too exciting.
But I enjoy it, so I do it and I share the fun!

Stairs can be fun aswell,
dirt roads/green laning is fun.
Football (soccer) fields are ton of fun, riding on grass 8-)

Hey Aspie.

I've seen your vid of lane splitting on our mutual "Corro" playground. As far as having evidence on Youtube, I'm a bit cautious (but my one and only vid) is me splitting down Corro Dve on the way to work.

I ride that path daily and have never seen the cops blitzing us (although do sometimes see the cars in traffic in the morning runs and am cautious blowing past them). I got busted along with every other bike rider one morning lane splitting down Western Fwy (between Moggill and Toowong roundabout) so I don't take that path anymore in the mornings.

Safe riding brother and hope to see you out there one day.

WOW
Why are people SOOOOOOO paranoid nowadays???

If you do something stupid, that may effect others, cause injury or even death. Then the Authorities will proll knock at ya door, otherwise why would they?
If a Cop pulls out of the station, drives 1m he would find a Car/Bike/Truck/Padestrian/seagull/Pram/Old lady/etc, that he could 'find' anything he wanted to find (MOT/RWC, Speed, Tail light out, Wonky walker, etc).

Us 'meat-sacks' are a funny bunch, we arent Robots, so we will innevitably NOT be able to Keep to a speed limit, Resist from answering a Ph call, Allways indicate, allways wear seat belt, etc etc.

We arent perfect!!

So if ya want the Interwebby Bobby to chase ya like the Keystone Cops, Put Wheelie, burn-out, Road-Rage, Trolling Vids and youll get flagged, If ya dont, your safe.
No Cop out their is going to watch Thousands of HOURS of footage to follow a 'simple' offence like that.

Have the Police and Politicions taken away the MAN in all of us?
Im not reckless, but i do what i want, when i want, Tis MY LIFE. But ONLY if it IS safe and NOT going to effect anyone else, if i get caught 'Oh well' im knicked! Give it to me Copper!! lol

A mate of mine didnt want to go to the recent 'ToyRun', coz he was worried the Po were going todo a blitz on loud mufflers, 3500+ bikes 'Yeah Sure'.
Scared Submissive Little Monkeys, Is that what you want to be for YOUR country? Your/My For-Fathers were tougher stock than most of us?
AND the Civil Liberties that they FAUGHT FOR YOU, are dwindling away!!!!!!
