Review To Scout Or Not To Scout??

Well folks,

I completely love the Ducati Scrambler (Primary commuter bike). That said, I have a second bike (2013 victory vegas 8ball) that I use for long jaunts on the highway and weekend bar hopping. Anyways, got the bug recently to potentially trade it in.

So first up was the Indian Scout. Wow, what a bike. The Scout is everything the Scrambler is, but for for the Cruiser community. Great fit and finish, Powerful engine, agile handling, a joy to ride.
I'm really thinking hard about this one. What to do you folks think? Any Scout owners on this site?

Ohh, what I am looking for? A Cruiser that can perform on the backroads and the occasional weekend trip.

It's too bad the Indian dealer back home folded. They were trying to hold out for Indian, but stupidly got into the horribly gaudy and over-priced custom chopper craze. They tried to convert half of the store to Triumph when the owner finally realized Triumph made up over half their sales, even though he was only giving the brand like 1/6th of the floor space. Too late and too bad. Now the nearest dealers are about an hour away from Toledo. I really need to find a local Indian dealer to try out their lineup. It'd be nice to have something more sedate for long road trips.

They sure are an interesting bike, a good alternative to the larger cruisers for people who aren't after a massive bike

Ever consider the Triumph America/Speedmaster? 865cc Inline 2-Cylinder. Not heaps of power, but it's quick and well-balanced. Handles really well at low speed, too, which is good for a commuter. I owned one for 10 years. It's really smooth throughout the power band.

If you need something with a bit more muscle, try the Triumph Thunderbird Storm. 1700cc
