To Famous To Talk?

becouse am small and this is just a hobby i have time to talk to everyone but i know as people grow it get harder and take up a lot of time it be like reading your junk mail and replaying to them all they just keep coming. am sure they dont mean anything by it if there no replay it could also be there so much mail coming in that yours can get lost

Im currently rocking 1182 subs (yay me!) And i still try to reply to all comments and messages asap.

I don't seem to get many, if any 'gimme a shoutout' etc.. comments. Must be an indicator of my viewer bases higher intellect and maturity!

I think it's nice to reply to someone that is asking a legitimate question unless the comment really doesn't deserve a reply. (like haters and stuff like that) But I can understand how difficult it can become when you are getting moderately popular. Fortunately, I'm not falling into that category with my 14 subscribers.

I don't think there is a right or wrong way to go about this ... The important thing is to do what YOU feel is right and that YOU enjoy doing it.

One does not simply beg for shoutouts.

I replied to everything until around 15,000 subs then it was too much.

Also if you reply to a message it's never 1 question. When you reply once, it's 25 more questions, many of them being, how tall are you? Is a Ninja 300 a good first bike? Can I learn on a 600?

It gets hard. I reply to as many as I can but it's fricken hard.

i've somehow got a totally undeserved 35,000 subscribers (given how silly the vids usually are) although only a fraction of those watch every vid. probably 50 comments per vid and i always make sure i respond, if they've gone to the effort of commenting. trolls i just ban immediately unless they've managed to be a bit clever, in which i might play with them for a little while. :)

quite a few silly questions but mainly from young kids, but i just try to remember i was a kid too and respond appropriately. quite a few comments in other languages, i always google translate these and respond in their language which is good for a few laughs.

can take up to an hour each morning to respond to everyone but it's enjoyable and i think they deserve a response.

I don't have that many subs and to be honest I think less and less people these days are actually commenting and having good discussions on videos. But Personally no matter if I stay small or get "big" with my motovlogs and videos I plan on replying to every single comment. But I can see how it would be hard when you have thousands of comments to reply to them all.

definitely must be hard for the popular guys. we did some coaching recently with one of the world's top extreme enduro riders, chris birch. i follow his facebook page and am surprised how often he does reply but he has to pick and choose when he has so many comments and questions every single day.

i only get a few comments a week. but i understand if big guys don t have the time to reply to comments about starter bikes etc.

whenever i read questions like that i think those ppl must either be trolls/idiots or be really uneducated in the field or vlogging/bikeriding and youtube xD

haven t had many haters and only 1 guy who asked me what a good 125cc bike is

Generally, when a newbie asks a question about a starter bike, they haven't bothered to search the channel for videos on the topic. IMO, if the person being asked has already covered the topic already, it's not worth trying to keep up. I do my best to answer all questions and respond to comments, but sometimes stuff slips through the cracks. Like I never get email notifications for private messages. Seems like YouTube abandoned support for the PM function at /messages.

lol that does start to get annoying when they don't even bother to search the vids you've made. i'm always getting asked "when will you do a training vid about how to do wheelies?"

and i'm always saying did two of them ages ago, did you bother using the links at the end of the vid, or the website, or the facebook page, to the complete list of vids all grouped for ease of searching? i occasionally offer to do their laundry and make a cut lunch for them since they seem incapable of basic tasks. :)

seriously... forgot if whoever he s watching covered the topic or not

why doesn t that person just google

best starter 250 dirtbike or whatever xD

one thing i'm finding interesting is certain subscribers have a good sense of humor and we'll often get into a bit of a conversation via the comments.

some of the stuff they come with is quite funny and i've included a little 'quotable quotes' section in the vids now where i'll drop in the more amusing comments. everyone seems to enjoy this and i guess it gives them a sense of involvement as a youtube subscriber as well.
