Do you use them? Do you like them?

Is there any free software to remove them?

I'll often film non stop a 4 hour ride, and I find that when I am editing the clips the time stamps help. Sometimes they are nice to keep in, but if I'm putting together a little 30 second or so montage, or 5 minute highlights, I might not put the clips in chronological order, and then the time stamps are a problem.

Well on my HD170 Stealth it's an option in the video settings, don't know what camera you use though

I mean, how when I am editing clips with time stamps on, do I remove the time stamps. I know how to turn them on and off on the camera.

sorry then not a clue. apart from just putting a black bar along the bottom of the clip, but that's probaby not what you want to do

Virtual dub can do filters to hide timestamps. Do a search on youtube and you'll find a good few tutorials on it.
