Susten will have ice and snow, and may still be closed in March. I'd stay around the lakes until late April.Seeing you videos, and always wanting to go to Switzerland, I've decided to take a trip there around March. What would the general weather be like do you know? I'm thinking of going on the Susten Pass and understand it'll be cold, but it's ice I'm more worried about!
That'd be great! Where are you based? I'm thinking of going through Mont Blanc tunnel and heading back in to Switz, gonna try and get on the Jungfrau railway as it's been a dream of mine for a while, me and my mate will have to talk an alt route from there if the Susten is closed then, we're gonna try and get a scenic ride to Zurich after Jungfrau, probably a same day thing depending on accommodation. Just an idea atm but will gladly swing by your way if we can! We're under a time constraight to knock out 1700 miles in 4/5 days haha. .Argh, a missed opportunity! Let me know when you do visit though and I'll happily show you around. Look out for a Susten Pass ride in 2-3 weeks on my channel![]()
Ah fair! Yea, will have to either miss it or go at a later date. Thanks, will give you a heads upI live in Fribourg, mid way between the Alps and Jura (of Jurassic Park/Jurassic Era fame) mountain regions.
If you want to do Susten, then either of the 2 routes are the best:
Grimsel-Nufenen-Gotthard-Susten
Grimsel-Furka-Susten
I did the second one recently and need to make videos from the trip. Even in August/September there was snow up there.
stunning views it is a beautiful country.
Thanks, will give you a heads up![]()
