For me i wave to anyone. there are a lot of bikers here so most wave back. if they dont i dont care because they are in the middle of something or just dont wave. I just try to be friendly to everyone that rides by. never know who you might run into in the future is what i have learned lol

@JamesBrown Yessir. I was behind a group of Harleys on Saturday and we passed a Sport-touring bike (I didn't catch the make/model) but none of them waved to him as he waved to all of them.. I waved back. It's not all Harley riders, but around my area it is the majority. Usually if they're on a Sportster 883 or a smaller Harley they'll wave.. but the larger the bike, the more snobby they tend to be.

I have a CB500X. I wave at anyone except people on cruisers with ape hangers (because they never wave back) and I don't initiate a wave with people who don't wear helmets, but I'll wave back if they wave. Maybe that's snobby, but I figure if you aren't wearing a helmet you better just keep both hands on the bars and focus on riding even more.

The annoyance of the UK: wave isn't easy, so it's The Nod.
And when you end up riding past a group of bikers, you feel like a bobblehead toy.

I have had a couple of riders who turn their head up and away from me in the past. Instant thought: "What a douche..."
What I've found though is those in helmets that aren't full face [or flip up], won't nod. Not to say that all full face bikers will not, though.

I try and nod where I can, personally.

I ride a cruiser, I wave to mostly everyone on two wheels even a scooter every once in a while, even if it's by accident, ha! I encourage safety when it comes to wear gear, I wear my helmet because my camera is mounted on it, why would I want to miss something great happen? However I don't let that make the decision whether I wave or not, I generally initiate it unless they're waving really soon. If you have two wheels, go ride!

If I'm busy shifting or whatnot with my left hand, I'll nod.. whether people notice it or not is a different story.. I try to wave to everyone who is on a motorcycle/scooter. Most scooter people (the very few around here) generally don't acknowledge it either, but I think that's probably from people not waving to them.. I'm actually considering waving to the guys just biking down the street, with the way people drive around here I'd be terrified to be on a bicycle on the side of the road.
