We had a tornado go through a few years ago and it somehow spooked a ton of dogs along one stretch of Interstate. I counted 14 dead dogs in a 1 mile stretch, all hit by vehicles. I felt horrible because each of those represented someone's pet. Almost had a squirrel fall on my car the other day, fell out of a tree and got clobbered by car passing me.

In the last fornight / 2 sunday rides; I've seen 13 dead wombats on the side of the road. Usually road kill is removed quickly here, not this year though
