The dangers of lack of attention

This video is currently doing the rounds on Facebook as a slightly more... direct reason why people shouldn't text-drive, call-drive, drive aggressively. As a friend of mine put it: you're risking your life, your passenger's life, and quite a few strangers' lives by doing it. And even if no-one gets killed, PTSD stays forever.

It's worth watching, because there are a lot of real footage in there. Not just that, but it's not car-centric or bike-centric. There's stuff from every vehicle type in there - mostly because getting distracted, voluntary or involuntary, happens regardless of the vehicle type.

Pass it around to educate people. Drink-driving is bad. Drug-driving is bad. However, the real killer is the lack of attention on the road (and anyone who has been on a bike and has almost been SMIDSY-ed by some cunt on a phone will agree with me on this one)

Gwent police did a video once about a year ago about texting and driving.

Was pretty hard hitting as it covered the victimisation that the family of the text-driver under go too.

this on e is a mix of all sorts of campaigns/real life footage put into one, with a few adverts that have a scenareo that could happen, followed by actual footage of it happening.

It does go to show though that the roads need 100% concentration, which is why there are times where I am silent in my vlogs, because like many I am concentrating on the road.

This post comes at a good time - the start of the biking season. In plymouth alone four bikers have died since the start of the year that I know of. There were two bikes in plymouth in accidents on thus and thats within the city only, so ride safe guys!
