Switching from Super Sport to Supermoto

Oh so you know my work!?! :p
I check in every now and then ;)

 o_OSo what you are saying is all my mates that have 600/750/1000 etc , super sports bikes ... Are just posing and cruising around like wussies ... but thinking they look like Stoner or Rossi ?? .... ..... Yeah sounds about right!! ;)
Thats what ARL SHOULD be saying! lol. Unless theyre doing 200kph on their way to work? Of course they buy them because they feel like stoner or rossi. Thats the main selling point for a supersport. And theres nothing wrong with that. Just dont buy one and then think you will be fast. Most people on 30 or 40hp motards will be quicker on a winding road than supersport riders... simply because they are easier to ride, confidence inspiring and more forgiving. If you want to be fast on a supersport, you need to be riding every day and every weekend pushing its limits in the mountains or at a track. Anyone that does less than 30,000km a year is not fast.

lol... lets see what wasp nest i just broke

Disclaimer: my first 14 years was on supersports, then morard for 7 years and now adventure bike.

I want to change my supersport for a supermoto now. I'd never considered it until I got the Apache and found how much fun it is, but mostly how much more comfortable and practical it is, too!

I'v been thinking about the same thing myself. You need to remember the distance you get on these dual sports are BAD. Plus I would miss the speed too much. If insurance was as cheap in Canada as in the stats I would probably own both.

The ducati Hyperstrada/Hypermotard is the perfect compromise I just cant justify spending this much on a bike. In my opinion this is the perfect motorcycle.

I just heard you darnt ride your cbr like a supermoto, everytime i ride them just find it hard to keep the front wheel down, and then try explaing that to the police officer wouldnt wash id ont think

I went from an RSV1000R to a Tuono V4R to the Aprilia Dorsoduro 1200 and i have to say the supermoto style of bike is MASSIVE MASSIVE AMOUNTS OF FUN!

If i was going to get something limited to the traditional CC of supermoto i would go for the KTM SMC690 R or perhaps the Aprilia SXV550. Things like the Yamaha XT660 or what ever their learner legal tryhard supermoto is just don't cut it.

IMO try the Dorsoduro or Hypermotard. You get the best of both worlds. Masses of wheelies, speed hump jumping, agile turning, tarmac riping fun, plus the are REALLY fast. 135hp 1200cc vtwin rips out of corners
