Ive been considering switching from my 2004 cbr600rr to a supermoto... the only thing is i love my cbr. and it would pain me to almos sell her.. what should i do

To be honest mate, I think you'll regret it, unless you get a powerful 'Supermoto' where you still have pretty decent speed. But the way you worded the above seems to me that it would be a mistake to swap ;)

I agree with others, you seem to not want to sell more than wanting to buy a supermoto. What are the reasons you have for wanting to buy a supermoto. Which moto are you thinking of getting? Perhaps after providing this info i will be able to better give advice. ;)

Why sell it?
Let rego run-out, let it sit (Dry), worst case you dont like S-Moto so much, re register it next year??
Or track bike?

If u have somewhere to store it, Keep it, start a 'collection', trust me, going to the garage just to 'think/ponder' bout stuff, with a BUNCH of bikes around ya...Clarity of thought or what!!

I LOVE my garage! But not everyones a horder like me...

Just keep riding and wrecking your friends super-moto. Probably a lot cheaper to replace a few plastics on his bike every once in a while than having to pay for and insure another bike.

It is a lot of fun riding those super motards around town or out in tight twisties, but the short gearing and lack of top speed (it took forever to get up to 100mph on xt660x) would make you miss having a supersport. Unless you can afford something like a dorsoduro 750 or hypermotard 821 I would say stick with the 600rr. Maybe you can find a cheap '01- '02 WR250 or drz and turn it into sm and keep both bikes.

I think the solution is clear, time to make room in the garage! LOL I have been wanting to get a supermoto as well, nothing fancy just something to bomb around on! Looks crazy fun!

I would never go back to a supersport. Going fast has a limited fun factor... and a 600+ is only fun at 100+
Besides, the way you crashed... a supermoto might keep you alive longer :p

i adgree in regards to adventure bikes, dual sport bikes ( when made correctly ) are worlds above supersport bikes.

in the real world there is more super sport bikes but90% of those riders don't even use the bike for what its made for.

I had this issue and debated about it for sooo long, i wasd convinced id regret selling by sports bike - so i kept it and was looking for a supermoto for a second bike for about 6 months but never found one to my liking.
(Well i did find one but it was sold the day i wanted to buy it)

I dont think i'll ever get rid of my R1, not unless its for a 2009+ R1

 o_O

So what you are saying is all my mates that have 600/750/1000 etc , super sports bikes ... Are just posing and cruising around like wussies ... but thinking they look like Stoner or Rossi ?? .... ..... Yeah sounds about right!! ;)

But they do look after their machines and don't act too much the fool .... So it's cool eh!

no thats not what i said,

what i said was 90% of the bike riders don't use super-sports for what they are made for..
track days.

tha majority use it as daily. Some then go ahead an want to push the limits on track, like what the bike is designed for.

I've been feeling this way for a while as well. I've only rode my Ninja 250 and a WR250X. Loved the supermoto and love my little Ninja. I want to experience what the supersport bikes have to offer, but at the same time the supermoto is so much fun and would suit my needs a little better. Good luck on making your decision. Just gotta figure out what makes you the happiest.

I agree with most of everyone else. Keep your bike and buy the sumo as a second bike. I love my DRZ. I've kept it longer than any other bike I've ever owned and have no plans to sell in the future. But I do miss having a streetbike with more high-end balls, like my old R6.
