Storing Gear In The Garage

morning all!

I'd like to store out-of-season gear in my garage so I don't clog up the house as bike gear is generally pretty bulky.

Anyone have any good suggestions as to the best way to store stuff but keep it free from pests (mice etc) and insects? Last thing you want when riding is a troop of ants crawling in your pants or a spider crawling across your visor, for the arachnophobes anyway

Sealable plastic containers with a moisture absorber in it.

Vacuum pack them in plastic. You can get very cheap bags that you use a vacuum cleaner on to suck out the air that will keep them sterile.

In Australia it's definitely a major concern!

I the UK we just do it to avoid the embarrassing girly screams when we find one unexpectedly.

I think the tubs may be the best way, less hassle when packing stuff away then, rather than go find the vac!

Was hoping someone knew of a wardrobe/closet/locker type thing to take 3 sets of gear, but the simplest solutions are usually the best.

I use tubs for all my dirt bike gear and it always seems to do the trick!

that's exactly what i was going to suggest . if there's any leather going into a tub they tend to grow mold .

Vac bags or tubs I guess. Probably vacpac the mesh gear as there's a limited window for that in these parts lol!

Dont think it would be any higher than anywhere else in the world.

Problem here is distance to medical care most of the time.

They have less plants there, so the spiders cant hide as much..

I think its about the same as the rest of the world


As for the gear, Tubs, or vacuum bags like everyone else said. Personally i just hand it in my closet
