Steady video?

How do some of ya'll get steady video? I've noticed that while testing out my friend's drift that the video was really shaky. Even more shaky than what I felt while riding. I'm guessing some either have crazy expensive suspension or they have some kind of editing technique?

Depends on where you mount the camera. If you mount it to your helmet, it should be rather smooth. If you mount the camera to the bike, it can be tricky to get really smooth video.

Mounted it on my helmet and it's still a bit shaky.

Do you have some test footage uploaded? I have a feeling you might be a little paranoid or something. Or maybe your mount isn't on the helmet firm enough...or maybe your helmet isn't attached to your head well enough haha.

It might be me paranoid or the reverse on my bike isn't working. ;) Haha

I'm editing it at the moment and will have a small clip ready in a couple of hours...I need a new computer...LOL

Try putting something like a sponge or foam under the slider on the Drift. There is some movement between the helmet mount and the screw in Drift mount. Wedge that space with a little piece of foam.

On top of the shakiness, I'm kind of antzy about the angle. It could just be the fish eye effect throwing me off, but it doesn't look like it's perfectly straight.

The mount and camera are pretty solid. There is no space for it to wiggle when engaged per say.

I do think the GoPro appears to have less shake, but I 3rd what was said above - any shake just shows up as bumps in the road and it's still very watchable.

It's attached to your helmet really well...so the shaking is all about your head moving around and the helmet bobbing...that's all about the way you ride, the roads you ride, and the way your suspension on the bike acts for your body.

It looks fine to me!

until we get a miniature gyro stabilized mount, these are the things we have to deal with. Wouldn't it be cool to be able to dampen the vertical movements with some type of gyro dampener setup! Some of those RC airplane gyro's are tiny as are the servos, you might need a larger servo to get the required torque though, and someone who knows how to setup such a system and program it to do the right thing. Waiting for someone else to do it though cause I don't know enough to build it myself.
