Split screen/Pic in pic borders in Vegas

When you watch TV and see split screen, which can be very effective the footage is always seperated by a thin black line.
Does anyone know how to do this simply in Vegas without saving full footage with borders and then adding them back to further footage? Ar e there plugins that may cater for this?

I can see tutorials for other products but not vegas.

As far as I can remember you can position footage whereever you want in Vegas. So you could put 2 clips over the top of each other and position them with a gap between them creating a border.

I think thats what youre asking...

And i think im talkig about Vegas... Could be premier....

New Blue do a plugin in their video essentials 3 package called split screen. It works well enough...
Split screen is tricky stuff though, you have to think 3 x as hard when editing..
