The KTM guy melted his rear fender and I think his plates too. Crazy.

I'm not allowed to post videos so here's a gif of the burnout instead:

An event dedicated to burnouts? Interesting. I've never seen anything like that in person, he must have been going pretty hard.

Not my thing either, quite fun to watch though. The winner got a new tyre. So I guess this was perfect for those who already have worn down tyres.

This made me realise im old.. Cause i dont understand why people do this.

To get rid of old tires... I hope I remember to do a one wheel peel (damn I want a LSD) burn-out in the grand marquis before I replace the tires in a few months. But it wouldn't be a long sustained one till the tire pops... People have indeed blown engines like that. And the trans will probably not like it one bit either!

Eh, I suppose I can understand, but on high strung bikes I rather save the engine, clutch and just toss the tire. I generally replace a tire once it's 60% worn down. So if I ever do slice a firewall or something silly I have backups to cover me for a short period of time.

Dirtbikes go through tires fast and at $90 a pop, I don't do burnouts, ever.

One more: WHY THE FUCK?

BTW, as an engineer, I'd like to study the environmental impact of that thing, not only in terms of sound, but also in terms of air pollution and breathable particles. Did you know that some diesel particles don't even go to the lungs but they go directly to the brain?

Wouldn't like to be anywhere near a "Burnout Sunday", haha!

Vs!

R.I.P. tires. Also, what's up with the wall thingy, if they wanted to do a burnout shootout the rider's skill it keeping the bike from flying away should be a factor to decide the winner, just my thought.
