So a couple of new cameras rumoured! <3

GoPro has a couple of new cameras rumoured to be announced next month, the GoPro Fusion replacement; the "Max" and the GoPro Hero 8 Black.

The Fusion replacement looks to have ditched the second memory card requirement, and the 8 looks to have gained some accessories: a light, mic and a front facing colour screen (not shown). I just hope they have gotten rid of the mic adaptor requirement for us motovloggers! :-)

Interesting. As you know I had issues with my Hero5 Black. One of them was I couldn't keep it powered with USB and in use at the same time, it just cooked it and it powered down. Lost count of the amount of minutes riding not recordeed because it kept failing. This new one could be good for vlogging if that built in mic and light is anything to go by if it's proved to be reliable.

It wouldn't surprise me if there was a new Insta360 offering coming soon too as they sent me a questionnaire a while back asking what I'd be looking for in a future camera!
The running on external power issue is the main thing that stops me using my 6 or 7 as a helmetcam, so I'd love it if they could sort that.

I'm intersted in seeing what GoPro brings to the table with this next line but honestly I don't think I'll be buying another one. My best guess is that they will require the mic adapter as it is a huge moneymaker for them.

Found more details. Not much is mentioned about the mic situation.

GoPro looks set to double the maximum frame rate of its predecessor – up to 60 frames-per-second in Ultra HD, and 480 frames-per-second slow-motion in 1080p HD

the biggest twist on the formula this time around is a brand-new range of accessories that attach to the top of the camera unit

As much as "the new" cameras are cool, there are definitely cheaper cameras. Also remember the 2nd hand market, a Gopro hero 4 is still quite a solid camera.
The mic adapter is no longer a money maker because you can not get it anywhere, it has been sold out since at least end of February. I wonder if this is because of the new camera? I had to for this reason buy a Hero 4 and go with a Sena backpack for audio.
Honestly my other Cameras I think take better video, they were both less than $100 but the only limits I see is they can't take more than I think 32gb cards and the settings are usually limited. GoPro has way better adjust-ability with the amount of settings you have to play with.
