Some off the new Camera`s look great but as they get better they also get more expensive lol Ive had my Drift Ghost-S nearly 4/5 years and killed it 6 or 7 times and it still working to this day lol tho our returns office at work is full of the new Go Pro`s waiting on being shipped out for warranty assessment

What happened to Gopro over the years.. never had any issues myself but I hear no end of technical problems from the 5 onwards. Crazy that people have grown to dislike what was once the most popular brand on the market..

The Insta360 brand may well be the future of action cameras lol

Taxes mainly.
With all the stuff people buy from the big chinese websites etc.
So government is afraid to lose taxes, and thus checking products more and more.
Shopkeepers are losing income, so they are nagging towards stricter rules etc as well.

In theory, after the Brexit, if i would order a Drift from Drift directly, i would have to pay taxes over that as well, to get in here

Similar problems here, especially anything tech related. Our tech import taxes are between 30%-40% of the product value.

What i'm really waiting for is the Sony FDR-X4000! Will it ever come? The 3000 was the absolute best action camera you could get for over 2 years until this new crop of cameras appeared, so surely they have a replacement in the works that will blow everyone away like the FDR-X3000 did in 2016?

Heard on the motorcycle something about a new Firefly model, which should support 4k @60fps.
Anyone here knows anything more? Might be an interesting thing as it is a smaller/cheaper brand.

Hawkeye are about to release the Firefly 9 and the Firefly X can already be ordered. Hawkeye is a better quality cheap chinese camera (if that makes sense). They usually include as many features as possible and are very well priced.

I personally bought a Firefly 6s when the Gopro 6 was coming out. The Firefly 6s used the same camera sensor as the GoPro 4, had stabilization, similar recording modes and bitrate. They not as good as a GoPro (nothing really is) but they are damn good and cheap.

Quality could be better, both those states you mentioned sound better

I wonder if there will be a 9 this year.... I am more interested in the 360 camera development currently as the action camera market has IMO got to a point it is better than what is required with most folks viewing ability.
Now if we get a 200mbps Micro SD card we will see a huge jump in 360 cameras, and there will be 8k or 10k 360 consumer cameras offering 60 fps and 4k windowed footage.... now that is exciting tech!
It will literally melt most current PCs and phones on the render, but videos will be transformed
