Smaller Bikes

Hi guys.

I've been wondering this for a while now and only got through to actually posting this now.

This might sound stupid, but do guys on bigger bikes see guys on smaller bikes as bikers, or just commuters?

With smaller bikes I mean in and around 150cc - 250cc.

Thanks.

A bike is a bike. I know people who prefer to ride smaller bikes as they're much cheaper to run and jump on the big ones for weekend blasts. If you're riding around in trackies with L plates and a bike that looks like it should be in the scrap yard then you already know what type of person that is :)

As long as it a bike and not a scooter I'm fine with it.

Its when they think they have a fast bike I start to walk away.

Heard "Yea my 250 really hammers" a few too many times.

A bike is a bike. I used to have a BMW S1000rr and now I have a Grom. Both great bikes. Just get out there an ride.

I dont see you, Because i have the power of speeeeeeeed

I dont mind little bikes, hell if i wasnt a fatty, id consider getting something like a grom. Nippy and small

Find a Grom for a low price it's totally worth it. It's like being on a little pit bike going wherever you want, and being legal doing it.

Depends. You should know here in SA most people on small bikes are school kids in skirts/shorts or pizza delivery guys. I don't greet those, except for the laugh factor of seeing the expression on a schoolgirl's face when a big hairy biker gives her a solemn nod :D

But I greet everyone on two wheels that's wearing at least a jacket. The jacket is how I distinguish between the "casuals" and the actual riders

Yeah, you're right about that. I've seen way too many people on smaller bikes almost freak out as soon as someone on a bigger bike nods at them...hiliarious.

But thanks, I thought the gear might be the main difference.

Even a 50cc gear moped (MT5, RMX etc) is a bike in my eyes. Big bikes, small bikes. All got 2 wheels, engine in the middle and doesn't look like a chair. The rest is numbers.

I currently ride a zx6r but Im looking at getting a 1990 honda vtr 250. Whenever I see someone on a small bike, I am envious of how much fun they are probably having. I don't mind scooters and Ill through them a wave(you feel like shit if they don't wave back though). Its the bicyclists that I hate.

I just see them as someone on a bike, and hope that they are having fun. I like all kinds of motorcycles, ad if my budget would allow it, I would own many.
