Re: Me crashing my new bike this morning.

I'm a little sore this morning, but a lot of that is from the 3 hours of off road riding.

Bent gear lever was pulled back my hand at the time, now straightened, indicator back on, looks like the handlebars are a bit bent though. :(

This is the start of the road that I crashed on

Anyway, it looks like handelbars need replacing, forks are twisted in yoke so need loosening off and straightening out, is possibly leaking fluid (though it might be wet clay dripping - the bike was caked in mud) and I want it checked over by a mechanic before I ride it, it's okay at speed but doesn't like turning right at slow speeds now, oh and the neutral light has stopped working.

Going to get engine bars fitted too.

Bit gutted really, but nothing I can do about it now.

Re: Me crashing my new bike this morning.

Really unlucky mate :( Hope it's sorted out soon and everything just needs straightening up! You'd have thought a bike of this nature would be designed to regularly withstand crashes like yours so maybe get onto BMW about it and see what they say. It's not like they can argue that you were abusing it, it's meant to be off road! :)

Re: Me crashing my new bike this morning.

Glad you're ok mate, always worrying when legs get stuck under the bike!

My last upload here it is. Camera lost.

I had a crash on Friday, corrupted data file, after much, much tinkering I managed to salvage most of the footage. I hadn't realised that there was a problem, basically camera stopped recording after the crash, missed all the best stuff.

Today, I went green laning, lost the camera. Suction mounted, was there when I left wasn't there when I got to my green lane.

So, this will probably be the last bike mounted footage I upload for a few months. Doubt I can get another camera before Sept. As I have to pay the credit card bill for my motorbike I just bought.

Probably upload the odd bits and pieces from my mobile phone, but it won't be the same.

So, here it is, and goodbye for a while.

That freakin sux man, Hope you can get a new one soon. Any chance you could just redrive the route you took and find in on the roadside?

I secure my cam with zip ties since even my GPS pops off the windshield of my cage every once in a while. I love the panavise suction mount and have never had it fall off, but I still zip tie it on.

Re: My last upload here it is. Camera lost.

10 mile route, rode it again, couldn't find anyting.

I have a couple of mounts etc left, and for the time being, I'm going to try to lash up an old digital camera in video mode to record green laning, I'll see what I can do. Better than nothing.

Aim to get another vlogging camera in September.

Re: My last upload here it is. Camera lost.

It sux that you can't find it, but I'd be willing to bet it's still there somewhere on the side of the road.

If you don't want to spend a ton of money replacing it you could check out the Kodak ZX5. That's what I've been using to shoot my vlogs and so far I'm pretty happy with it. I should have a fisheye lens for it soon then it'll be perfect for motovlogging. I think the audio is about the same as the drift and gopro vloggers, but without the hassle of an external mic.(the cam has mic gain control) Last I checked they were about 60pounds on Amazon and getting cheaper. The image stabilizer is pretty good and the whole thing is waterproof and shockproof. I shoot in 720@30fps but it has 1080 and 720@60fps.

Re: My last upload here it is. Camera lost.

I have lashed up something.

I've got an old Samsung Toco Lite mobile phone, with a video camera function, I put a 4gig micro sd card in it, and with some drift velcro stickers, and an old Garmin sat nav mount, fixed it to my bike.

Better than nothing. :D

5 minutes later, backed it, dragged it, lifted it out.

Oh now I'm stuck. Revving the engine is not helping. I know I'll rev it again anyway.

Re: Me stuck in the mud this morning.

You wanna get a slow mo of the mud flying up, lol. Good intro scene maybe?

Subbed :)
